AMERICA - The Right Way!! (WEEKEND EDITION: Days 2287 and 2228) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | April 28, 2007 | All of Us

Posted on 04/28/2007 5:08:27 AM PDT by Chairman_December_19th_Society

As we settle into the nighttime of despair, fret not, for the Sun will rise again!!

Good morning!!

We, here, will never forget those who died on September 11, 2001, as we seek to protect the Republic from all who will do her harm!!

Administration officials are saying they will not provide an assessment of how well the "surge" is working in Iraq until September at the earliest.

Presidential candidate, for the moment anyway, John Edwards announced there is "no global war on terror" and that we should find other methods than using bombs to end terrorism.

And just when you think the hypocracy meter has been recalibrated to handle the Communists (aka DemoncRATS) musings, they peg the needle hard again. Howard Dean, completing forgeting UOx42, has announced that Rudi Guiliani's personal life "is a real problem."

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Have you tried Maxalt? It worked better for me than Imitrex did. My migraine absolutely stopped dead in its tracks. I did experience sleepiness as a side-effect, but the pain was GONE!

While they haven’t taken blood out of my nose yet, I am beginning to feel a little like a pin cushion myself. LOL!

I’ve been doing a bit of research on how a bone marrow biopsy is done. Big sigh.

Good morning all.

I’ve got to run to help cooking for a major school fundraiser today, so won’t be here until later.

Late last thread, Dog posted a link about that Taliban strike yesterday. Afraid it is very easy for people to miss, and my comments are later in that thread. Excellent article ...

Article includes a wonderful map, and some critically important info for Americans to look at.

He probably wants to provide each of them with the opportunity to go to weekly counseling.

Yeah ... oh... probably “grief counseling”, too

Good morning from my tiny piece of paradise. Should be mostly sunny, with a high of about 85. A little more humidity today, no trade wind at the moment.

I fertilized the yard, put wood chips down, and now I need a break. Sheesh.

I have nothing intelligent to say except that I hope ya'all have a great weekend.

Good morning everybody. We are on the road. We worked ourselves hard yesterday to get loaded and ready. Our dear conservative friends here in our neighborhood were so kind and invited us to dinner last night. We sure appreciated it as I believe we’d have been too pooped to even go great a burger. Plus we enjoyed a political discussion during dinner, lots of fun.

Hope everybody has a great weekend

Oh Jem! You are a treasure. I was speaking metaphorically or such. I meant that I didn’t really want to go to the shower with 50-60 people there and was getting a headache thinking about it! Thank you sweetie!

Yesterday, I posted on ATRW, a request for thoughts about whether to have my daughter attend 5th&6th grade at a different school in this post:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/1824466/posts?page=68#68

With some clarifications here:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/1824466/posts?page=107#107

First of all, I want to thank all you who have given this some thought and responded up to this time.  Being in sole custody, and dealing with a mom who seemingly obstructs just to obstruct at times, I find I have real trouble sometimes "seeing all sides" of the situation... since I only have one brain.  And, though none of you know the full situation the way an involved spouse would, I trust your judgment much more than most of the people around me.  I cherish your input.

Yesterday, I went over to the jr.high, for about an hour, that my daughter will be attending in 7th grade (I've definitely determined, now).  That WILL be a major culture shock - for me as well as her.  Spoke with a wishy washy guidance counselor who said, basically, "whatever you think is best will turn out fine"... not at all helpful, I'm afraid.  As diplomatically as I could, I asked if there was someone else who would be good to speak with, and she shunted me off to the principal who had, fortunately, just stepped back into the building!

Wonderful conversation - someone who respected and encouraged the Christian aspect of our life.  During the conversation, in fact rather early on, she said, "Well, I don't know your individual situation, and statistics being what they are, what I'm about to say may not apply, but studies have shown that the earlier children make these type of changes [of friends, etc.] the better things tend to go."  BINGO... that was just the info I was needing to hear.  I understand statistics, I told her, better than most people, working with analysis of fuzzy information daily ... and actually, there was probably not much point taking up more of her time.

We spoke for at least fifteen minutes after that, though.  I really enjoyed the time she gave me.  I hope she's as good a principal as she is a public point of contact.  Seems really bright and concerned about the kids, but not mushy concerned and not real PC.

Took this to bed last night.  Woke about 3AM remembering that conversation, in addition to several instances during the past year of my daughter trying to get us more involved in activities with children more near our home (all but one of her friends now live more than 20 miles away).  She seems ripe for this now, in her mind at least.

Downshot: right now I'm definitely leaning toward having her go to the 5th/6th grade that feeds into that jr.high year rather than keeping her in the school that doesn't, despite this meaning two changes.

Comments still being solicited...

I'll be gone cookin' barbeque, steak, etc... for a school major fundraiser (auction) all of today. Y'all have a great time here.

Good Sunny Saturday Morning to everyone.

I am still at work. Aiming to be finished up today, but quite honestly, I can’t imagine it will happen. This is my 15th year here, and it seems to me they have too much paper that will need to be printed and distributed to be out of here by midnight. I do not have a good feeling as to whether or not the leadership will work us thru the night tonite, or send us home to sleep a bit.

I had to vacate my hotel room, so I may be sleeping in my car in the Capitol parking lot.

going into lurking mode.

Good Morning, please add me to your ping list!

My initial plans--drink some coffee and do some lite FReading! :0P

Hubby has gone off the the landfill for a load of mulch: We pulled out all the horrible groundcover the builder planted on the hill in the back yard--and now the HOA demands the hill be recovered, or mulched. So we've been covering it with mulch the past several weekends. The mulch is free, (as is the labor--we pay only for the gas.

Well, those are his plans...I have a niece getting married in Stinson Beach (north of San Francisco) next Sat, so my daughter and I need to run out and buy some shoes, and some clothes for her big brother to wear to said event.

Good Morning!

Semi-related: I know how you feel regarding having your daughter make friends in the neighborhood. My daughter attends a little Presbyterian school in downtown San diego, close to my work, but about 16 miles from our home. She has attended this school since she was about 3-1/2. Some of the girls there, she has known since that age, and they are all in the 8-9 age group now. So being that we get home around 530 every weekend for the past 5 years, she hasn't really gotten to know any of the kids in the 'hood.

On the one hand, the neighborhood school is maybe 1/4 mile from our house: we have to pass by it to leave the tract, I know the principal, good reputation. On the other hand, she has all her little friends at the school she now attends. But, at some point, she'll have to switch to the local district for high school. So I'll have to decide--do I pull her out when she starts junior high? Wait til HS? Sooner?

I was also running errands - and the Sean Hannity weekend show was when he interviewed Rudy G and John McCain

Both of them were extremely eloquent in defending the Iraq policy.

John Edwards announced there is "no global war on terror" and that we should find other methods than using bombs to end terrorism.

How bout we just surrender to the terrorists, ala reid, and hold out our wrists to the savages to be handcuffed and not released until we pledge allegiance to mohammad or allah or whatever their ruling demon is until we pledge allegiance or have our heads SAWED OFF (as the Satanic Islamic savages love to do it) ....or S$#% F^$@ edwards do you have something else brilliant in mind?

Been pulling weeds, now the Ben Jay, lots of it.

We had a Ole Miss player drafted in the first round by San Francisco, line backer. I know, I know, that is not big news but let me tell you the rest of the story. His name is Patrick Willis, a nice young black football player. He has some 4 brothers and maybe one of them is a sister who is in foster care with a white family and they even helped with his out of pocket expense and his other money needs at college, he was on a full scholarship, Of course his real parents, both dopers came running to him with hand out and he ran them off, he told them that his new parents were the white couple who had his bothers. Just a good story in these days of so my stress and hate.
