How to buy a new gun in California?

I wonder why RoseRose said she wants to “buy a new gun”. The way she worded it would leave one to believe that she had an old gun and needed a new one. Either that or she doesn’t believe in buying things second-hand.

My bear gun is a second-hand gun. It works fine for me but the guy who used to own it didn’t have much luck with it. Rest in pieces, ole Roy. ;)

He shot a 3 year old male that had just come out of the den and didn’t realize that there was another griz in the den too. He walked up to the den, his partner even took a picture of him in front of the den, and then all heck broke loose. Guess who was still in the den. Yeppers, ole momma griz and she charged out of that den, “loaded for bear” you could say.

Yes, or at least I used to. I haven't listened to them in awhile. I'm terrible with names, and when I went to sign up for FR I just used the first thing that came to mind. I would like to get another name sometimes, but after 8,736 posts and many ping list subscriptions over the years, starting anew would be inconvenient.

I know all about KoRn. LOL When our youngest son was in highschool, KoRn was his favorite band. I even carved a sign for his room that said, “KoRn” (of course I put the “R” backwards)

I used to amuse him by taking a black magic marker and crossing out the word “corn” on the canned vegees and replacing it with, “KoRn”. LOL

A written test?! I’ve never heard of that being done before. I bought a new moose hunting rifle a couple of years ago and didn’t have to do that. Maybe it’s because of the state you live in.
