I’m glad you went to the dr., Mozie. Hope that anti-inflamatory shot works eventually although you said you have had some relief.

Rest as much as you can. I know that is difficult when you have committments.

I’ve been reading the biography of Martha Gellhorn, who was a writer and war correspondent during WWII and before, actually. She was in Spain during their war with Ernest Hemmingway, who she later married.

The point is she was a very angry lib throughout her life. She admitted it was her anger that kept her going. But she did not have time for the appeasement of the English and French before WWII. She traveled a lot and has written about her travel experiences. She was very feisty and fearless. The book is very interesting.

That's ok. Although I don't subscribe to the Book of Mormon, Christ did tell us that there would be "wars and rumours of wars" and that we shouldn't expect an easy life.

One of the reasons I am so adamant about keeping the tone of discussion elevated when we talk about politics is that it is so easy to descend into an "us vs. them" way of thinking, and I am seeing too much of it here on FR. First we were divided democrat and Republican, then liberal Republican. vs. conservative, and NOW it seems that every candidate's supporters are circling the wagons while attacking all of the rest.

Same thing with the Duke case. what's really a shame is that those young men would be the BEST people the black community could get to help them with unjustified prosecutions...but the students are instead being trashed by the people that they could help.

Those are good points, Jemian. I think we need our own television station and a huge slew of our own attorneys. We need to have parents get more involved in their kids schooling; if parents knew some of the things being taught to their kids, I like to believe they’d put a stop to it.

I just don’t know what will turn things around anymore. Really I don’t. It’s human nature to want handouts and that’s the way I see our society going. The military sacrifices a lot. And people like you have sacrificed a lot. But mostly I see folks out for themselves and what they can get out of someone.

Gone are the days of JFK’s democrat party; Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country.

Well, Mr. Peach’s phone call is over and I’m back to watching Planet Earth with him.

Will have to agree to disagree with youse guys on this one.............I thought his comments were revolting and he got what he deserved.

But that's the nice thing about ATRW...............I can say that here and not worry about being flamed or starting some huge war of words.

Well, I think I will live to see the failure of this great democracy.

You would not believe the vile things I’m witnessing going into law this year.

I actually have been resting quite a bit.............as in, I haven't lifted a finger for 4 days.....................

Tomorrow though I must make it out to the university for about 3 hours in the afternoon.................and then Sat. night I have to play for the recital......I'm accompanying 2 instrumental students.......

In between I will do nothing but rest, rest, rest some more.

I can't believe how this thing has just totally flattened me. I have NO energy. None; and I get light-headed when I' m on my feet for more than a minute or so.Yesterday I leaned over to toss something in the wastebasket and just kept going..... luckily there was a wall there to break my fall. When I walk its feels as if I'm walking UP an incline. That could be due to congestion in my ears.

Well, nobody likes a whiner, so I'll stop complaining.

Hi, Molly. I agree about ATRW :-)

I think his comments were revolting as well and have said as much on other threads about this. I’ve never watched more than 5 minutes of Imus total so I’m certainly not a supporter. I guess what’s disturbing to me is that the Harry Belafonte’s of the world can call Condi Rice anything they want (slave mistress, etc.) and no one decides that they will never hire Harry again. People (democrats) can say pretty much any ugly thing they want and they seem protected. It’s the hypocrisy that gets me, that and having the race baiters of the country claim some kind of moral authority.

I'm not Molly.

Haven't even played one on television.:)

....and all of that is disturbing to me as well. It's all bad; it's all wrong.

But excusing the I-Man wouldn't make any of it right.

JMHO.

I figured out why that happens sometimes (people confusing molly's and my screennames.)

They both have 12 letters, they both start with MO and end with ER. When someone reads in a hurry (as I often do myself) it can be easy to mis-read.

Either that or it's because we are identical twins. ;-D

Imus statement was the culmination of 20 years of steady degridation of the culture. The stuff that's on TV now wouldn't have been allowed when I was young. People would have been arrested for violating public decency.

Our culture has become coarse, vulgar, and cruel. It is unbelievable what people will say on radio ant TV, and no one calls them on it. We had a talk radio show here in town (which is nationally syndicated) have a female call-in guest URINATE over the phone, on air.

And people wonder why I mostly listen to Catholic radio.

I don't feel sorry for Imus at all. He spent too many years trashing all sorts of innocent people and simply crossed the wrong person...Hillary if you ask me.

One good thing about this is that I am hearing a lot of discussion about the lyrics in rap music, which I think is long overdue for some criticism. And also a lot of people are asking how Al Sharpton got involved, and who made him and Jesse the arbiters of all that is right, given Tawana Brawley.

You can complain all you like - this doesn’t sound pleasant at all. Is it safe for you to drive if you have this light headedness? Also, how can you play piano if you feel this bad?

This certainly sounds like the flu that has been around all winter. The lack of energy, etc.

Continue to rest and take care of yourself.

Ice cream! The very thing! I bought diet ice cream sandwiches and I am going to go get one right now! It’s bound to cheer me up (and I have 5 points I haven’t used yet, so I won’t even be cheating!)
