My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Eagle - King of the sky

Breathtaking, enormous, cunning, fierce, soars an amazing bird with eyes that pierce. Showing off a wing-span of elegance and grace. Vicious, awesome circling through space. Sweeping downward to earth, taking animals by surprise. Feasting when needed in order to survive. Flies an Eagle, so precious, pleasing to the eye, takes its place in the universe. Night Shift at the Forge

The massive hammer falls, and sparks sear the night,
the darkened smithy rings its hard anvil bell of toil,
as hot metal forms the image in the smith’s mind,
until it lives, a thing in hand made from a dream.
Coals sear bright, and the bellows gives its scream,
until its seems an unholy chaos one might find,
as steel glows until immersed in water that boils,
and so the creation continues until the morning light.

hold to me
as I to thee
on fire with passion’s fine

I would come to thee O Knight of Valor
sup sweet wine in golden goblets
adorned with precious jewels
the journey long and dangerous now
with winds of war raging near the castle tower
leaving to travel now is not safe
erst while the wont of thine shant be met.

As the moon cometh over the mountian
on the fourth night of June
lay in thine safe abode and watch for
the banners of the Red Knights of
Glen Gaul Way..listen for the hounds at bay
keep an eye on Venus playing in the heavens.

I shall approach thine abode in hushed steps,
in the dead of night on the padded foot of the cat
then merry making until dawn, and by noon be gone.

My cousin lives out in the hinterlands and it was hot sitting outside on the patio. It was wonderful seeing her again.

And the most pleasant ride into the valley between the hills where I grew up.

Hinterland? I suppose you say I live in the hinterland, too. Wouldn’t the valley be cooler?

I call it the Boonies. I went deeper into the boonies to lunch with a friend this afternoon. The breeze was nice and if the air hadn’t been dry I wouldn’t have been able to tolerate the 86º temp.

I hate it when he laughs at his own jokes: Someone isn't taking the public debut of the Sumatran tiger cubs very seriously at Dreamworld in Queensland's Gold Coast.

Sidelong glances only: Please don't stare at the chimpanzees at the Antwerp Zoo. Cheetah, who was raised by humans, apparently likes to bond with people more than with his fellow apes, a behavior that the zoo is trying to discourage.

Hinterland is a nicer way to say Boonies, same thing. She lives in the sticks.

It was nice though, while we sitting on the patio a huge hawk soared above us.

It was not that hot out there, but much warmer than what we have been having.
