My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Woven in fine silk
Woven in fine silk a collage of oriental bliss lotus blossoms clumps of ginger root placed beside the Japanese pinks silky like your hair looking beyond...past stoic eyes sense memories, of stolen moments written in oriental tapestries and old kimonos February left me wanting warm summers nights with just the hint of your sensual aura...

Out side work causes backaches and an appetite.
I worked one hour raking old, stinking, oak leaves, from off flower beds.
I sat in the sun, checked the Clematis for new buds
(I thought it was winter kill)
but no, triumph again this year, I see the green.
Japanese Quince is budding and Lilac is showing her glory.
Flower buds are forming big cones of Lilac scent,
the aphrodisiac of warm Spring nights.
Coming inside for rest and coffee,
I started making soup, nice onion soup
steaming away on the stove, windows opened
the smell drifting out to lure the passers by
to draw in the strong smell of onions
while rubbing their empty bellies.
And the sound of the Evening Doves cooing now
as the other birds settle in for the night.
Ah, the sounds and smells of Spring, nature rejoicing in her songs
and peeper frogs prepare for a long night of chirping.

Learning about them is fun. I've had feeders for 20 or 30 years here and haven't had much that's exotic, but the most beautiful birds come by to brighten the day.
You must have a lot of different birds that are here in MA.
Do you get goldfinches?

Nice poem. Brings back nostalgic moments when I was in Japan.

Thanks, I wrote that poem years ago and I always believed it was a wonderful poem.
The Japanese make fine art out of everything. I think the most beautiful is fine silk and Cherry Blossoms.
WOO HOO today the temp went to 77F with 42% humidity, perfect. Low tonight is 47F. Not bad at all. ;)

That lovely poem says you’re ahead of us in the weather department. We have buds here, but barely. It still looks pretty barren.
Pretty soon it’ll happen. Knock on wood, the deer haven’t eaten much yet.

Oh thank you, Lady. It just flowed like a Summer rain. ;)
These few full days of sunshine have made everything pop. The Forsythia is in bloom. Yellow everywhere. It was out Friday when I went to the country.

Glad that the weather is getting better for you. Sometimes, I miss the season changes but not the shoveling of snow.

Yup, snow shoveling is the pits. On the other hand, there is nothing like Spring in NY.
Looks like I am going to have a boat load of Johnny-jump- ups. YAY I love them.

I think we do share many of the same birds.
I’ve seen many goldfinches while visiting friends here in town ..I get one now and then. My daughter feeds flocks of them n of Houston.
This is a down time at the feeder though I can hear a lot of birds..I had a female cardinal bathing today..Their juveniles will come this summer. My bird journal indicates the traffic will pick up again in May. I have had my almost always present titmice show up this past week after an absence at the feeder..I love their distinct songs.
I am grateful for the white winged doves this month..They hang around every day...and are cooing much more than usual.
I used to keep a detailed journal..Now I just note changes and unusual visitors.
