Now, on to tonight’s topic: summer. What’s your favorite thing to do during the summer? Do you have anything you do every summer? What are your plans for this summer?
Usually, I look forward to going to the beach. My grandmother lives two blocks from the beach in the Isle of Palms. However, this summer, I’m more excited about going to Vermont. Why? Because that is where my adorably newborn nephew lives. And hopefully, I get to spend an entire month with him this summer. :)

Fishing for alligator gar, brim and bass is outstanding tho. Not to mention being able to fish along the coast :)

I don't fish as much as I used to (did enough in the Scouts...)
They say there are largemouth in some of the area lakes...CJ Strike, Hell's Canyon...but I haven't gotten to either yet. I do miss the snook fishing I used to do in Florida. Talk about a wiley fish...catching a snook is a true accomplishment. Tasty, too!

iowa, eh? what part? part of my growing up was in NW iowa. there are some pretty parts, and then there are others. before iowa i was in MT and we used to say the difference between the 2 places was this: in MT you may freeze to death before you know it, but in IA you KNOW you are freezing to death. it is the blasted wind. SD is the same thing.

I'd like to at least come up and explore. Mountains, trees, water, no serious heat, no HUGE cities...in the summer, at the very least, what's not to like?

not sure what this summer will bring, have my first grandbaby on the way...so life will be different. we used to camp and go fishing... the big thing was to go to the renaissance festival!! love that! we also have Jazz Fest, and LifeLight weekends!!!
if we were back in MT it would be hiking and horseback riding!! that is heaven!
LOL! I'm in Iowa City. Yes, that wind is something else. I'm kinda near the edge of town and that wind just whips over the prairie. It's an experience.
