ROFL! I love that headline, although I did change it from 'linux fundamentalists'. When you read the article, it has nothing to do with linux specifically.

Actually, it contradicts itself.

^^^^^^^^^^There was some talk that Linus Torvalds himself will not support the standard as he quite likes the latest version of GPv2^^^^^^^^^^^

The words of chief OSS-anti-software-fundamentalist himself, Linus Torvalds.

The FSF has called in many jihads and fatwas. I'm surprised one of them hasn't blown themselves up in redmond yet. These guys are the worst.

Naughty, naughty. Shouldn't be changing the article title.

Plus, it might as well be Linux.

These programmers already volunteer their time to undermine software developers that like to pay their bills. Yet when they still can't convince the populace that "free" means freedom, they want to wreck it for everyone.

In a freaky twist, the free software fundamentalist PJ at Groklaw has a possible different take on the Novell deal, that it could actually keep Microsoft from making patent claims against any Linux distributor or user, not just Novell and theirs. Is Novell actually that smart? Hard to think they are given their history.

You know, it should be pretty easy for Jim Robinson to put in code to catch and kill duplicate posts (same thread, poster, reply to and content == kill it). I got a server error when posting, backed up and tried again, not knowing the first one had actually posted.

Guess what, the GPL3 latest draft is out. The anti-TiVo provision is still there, Stallman still wanting to extend his license to control other people's hardware. I don't think Linus Torvalds will be pleased.
