My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Hi everybody! Just a quick note to say I'm all landed and settled in. It's just so ordinary these days for me to travel between the US and Asia. I feel as much like I drove to the corner store for a bottle of milk as I flew around the world! I'll also be going to Bangkok for a quick trip for visa reasons.
It's amazing how attitudes and feelings change from place to place and from time to time. Ethnic Taiwanese have been very defensive about their first ethnically Taiwanese president (who didn't have such a great administration), so I thought being in their capital area (where I am now) would be kind of tense.
In fact, it's the opposite. Something about being in the absolute majority makes people relax quite a bit. Around here everyone walks around speaking Taiwanese (which is really the Fukien dialect from Fukien Provence in China) but they also speak Mandarin, and will occasionally switch to English, but I prefer to speak Chinese, after all I came such a long way I should be able to practice it!
Other than that things appear largely just how I left them, though all the people around here are much nicer than those others I was around. Maybe it's the ethnic makeup, that other area had three distinct groups who weren't 100% in love with each other, and lived in close proximity.
But down here there's only 1 group and it is 100% in love with itself! Which makes for a much more enjoyable environment.
Well, gotta run, I'll just drop in every few days or so for updates until I get a home computer, but I'm not in any rush to do that.
Cheers, and see you around some country or other!

The Walk
Whether I walk the plank, pieces of broken glass or a bed of hot coals,
one is to never forget their goals
by fulfilling Soaring Feathers wish
by never again to bring up talking or singing fish.
To do so would invoke much deserved heat
from the feathered one with her wings as they beat
a punishment that is so difficult to endure
where my mind was wishing that it were pure,
in agony I wished to once again hear the Platters sing
the melody as played in “With this ring”
to be forgiven would be such a treat
to tap to the music with my feet,
because it is late I must bid adieu
and wish a very good morning to you

Flower God, God of the Spring
- Robert Louis Stevenson, 1890
Flower god, god of the spring, beautiful, bountiful,
Cold-dyed shield in the sky, lover of versicles,
Here I wander in April,
Cold, grey-headed; and still to my,
Heart, Spring comes with a bound, Spring the deliverer,
Spring, song-leader in woods, chorally resonant;
Spring, flower-planter in meadows,
Child-conductor in willowy,
Fields deep dotted with bloom, daisies and crocuses:
Here that child from his heart drinks of eternity:
O child, happy are children!

"I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud" by William Wordsworth
I wandered lonely as a cloud That floats on high o'er vales and hills, When all at once I saw a crowd, A host, of golden daffodils; Beside the lake, beneath the trees, Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine And twinkle on the milky way, They stretched in never-ending line Along the margin of a bay: Ten thousand saw I at a glance, Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they Out-did the sparkling waves in glee: A poet could not but be gay, In such a jocund company: I gazed---and gazed---but little thought What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie In vacant or in pensive mood, They flash upon that inward eye Which is the bliss of solitude; And then my heart with pleasure fills, And dances with the daffodils.

So far so good. Sun is out today very lovely indeed.
I have my nose stuck into that book I mentioned yesterday.
The books exposes to the reader what the PC Crowd (Professors) do not want our youth to know about traditional reading-Shakespeare, etc., the lessons and beliefs taught in their writing. Very interesting book.
To: Soaring Feather
The book sounds interesting. It is too bad that the current crop of teachers/professors (if that is what we want to call them) have so much power. The position of teacher/professor used to have a title of respect. They have since lost that respect.

The cool thing about the book is that it is written by a female PH.D., who bars no holes, nor makes excuses-she throws light on them and their actions.
To: Soaring Feather
Good for her. It is about time that academia was exposed for what it is.

Honeysuckle cascading along the garden wall, Bees hum, and insects everywhere abound, The cuckoo sends us all his two-note call, So many voices in one glorious sound.
April showers glinting, on soft new born shoots, Daffodils of yellow, shine so ultra bright, Down river, paddling, come the aquatic coots, Plumage black, bills of white, and a fork tailed kite,
Swoops down, and with this long wings soars again, And with no backward glance, gives his farewell, Listen to April, hear now how it sings, A wondrous month, wherein the heart can dwell.
