My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

The Tax-Free Nation Poem
Ollie Wendell Holmes once said
‘Bout taxes in this nation,
They are the price we gotta pay
To have civilization.
But recently I’m thinking
That this rule we should relax,
’Cause I’d rather not be civilized
Than pay my income tax.
The money sinks of public ed,
The vet and welfare rolls,
The subsidies for geezer health,
Who needs these wasteful doles?
Our streets would have no pot holes
If we made them all toll roads,
Stock markets would go through the roof
Without dull legal codes.
To keep our armies solvent
We could send our soldiers plundering
No revenue means Congress
Won’t in spending realms be blundering
Who needs a tax-based commonwealth?
For too long we’ve been scammed.
We’ll each care for the things we like,
All other things be damned!

After filling out my yearly taxes, I
completed and sent the over-due Faxes! As the
figures were jotted down on the paper, The
IRS was'nt a friend or a neighbor.Like
Christmas, April 15th only comes once year,
We all wait till it's almost near! As some
rush to the mail-boxes with taxes in hand, My
feet in slow motion, feeling like they are in
sand! Some look at their watches when the
time is near, I should not have stayed at the
bar and had that last beer!

Fancy Nancy
...and the Legion of Wants
How Congress spends our taxes,
We haven't got a clue.
All we hear, from time to time.
is how we're getting scr*wed.
And Nancy has a penchant
For doing fancy things.
'Fore this, if I remember,
She asked for 'better wings'.
She, of course, expects us,
to finance all her wants.
She'll 'need' a bigger office...
She'll 'need' to go on jaunts.
Now Nancy's off to meet up,
with some folks who'd do us in.
And I, for one, have got to ask,
Are they... and Nancy... kin?
It looks as though she's thinking
that she's the President.
..or crazy, like Joe Wilson,
she must think she's been 'sent'.
Well, *I* sure didn't ask her
to fly across the sea.
I didn't tell her "Go there",
...She's not gone there for *me*.
But I guess it doesn't matter,
if *I* like it or not.
The 'pubbies' didn't win last time -
We're stuck with what we've got.
So now we all must wonder,
how we'll fix this sorry state.
A way that we can stop this?
...win in 2008!!!
