It could be that being from the old school of Hollywood, Jack believes in artistic integrity, and not giving an Oscar to documentary for a political reason. He MIGHT agree with the message of the documentary, but he might not agree with the reason(s) for awarding it an Oscar.

I don't think Jack stands for anything or anyone....pure speculation.I agree with you, but I think it's because he has too much of an ego to stand for anyone else.

I am no fan of Jack Nicholson Are you kidding. Nicholson is the one of the few actors I respect out of Hollywood. He was excellent in "The Departed."
