Prayers needed here
Posted on 01/25/2007 10:38:57 PM PST by republican4ever
I will be under the knife on Monday for cervical cancer. The whole baby-making machine is gonna be taken out and dumped. Good thing I don't need it anymore!
Although doc says they got all the "cancer spot" with the biopsy they did in December, they still are doing a histerectomy to play it safe. I couldn't agree more with the decision. At 54 a womb is only a liability!
Aside from my, family, friends and Rabbi's prayers, yours would certainly be appreciated! Thanks, fellow FReepers!

Prayers that your surgery will be boring and completely successful! Oh, and ask for the morphine on-demand pump afterwards ... it makes a world of difference.

Joining your FReeper family in prayer ...
Unto You, O Lord, belongs all praise and glory, for You are the Creator, and Your Word teaches that we are fearfully and wonderfully made. Thank You, Most Merciful Father, for the times uncountable when all is well within our bodies ... thank You for those to whom You have given wisdom and knowledge to set things right when all is not well.
May it be, O God, that all will be in readiness when republican enters surgery on Monday ... guard and guide her medical team that they would be instruments of Your healing. Grant her swift and complete recovery and an assurance that all is well.
In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, may it be thus, O Lord, may it be thus, Amen ...

Absolute best wishes for you. For what it's worth, my step-mom had cervical cancer and a hysterectomy and did just fine. It's now almost 3 years later and she's still doing great. No cancer, no other issues, and she said she doesn't miss her plumbing, either. :) Her advice to a friend was to get up and start moving as soon as possible after surgery and get on with your life. She was right.
Sounds like you have a wonderful support system, but you'll be in my thoughts.

Prayer request duly noted and will be in prayer for you and your surgical team.
To: republican4ever
Prayers for you and for your family. Prayers for peace of mind also--sometimes the worry in our minds is more difficult to overcome than the illness.
