In my opinion Joe Biden's proposed partitioning of Iraq seems to be the best idea put forward so far by anyone in either party. I really do think it is time for us to take the lead and begin this process of partitioning Iraq giving specific regions to the Kurds,Sunnis, and Shiites. There can be a formula in which will give them each sufficient oil revenues as well as sufficient autonomy. I personally believe that Iraq is going to be partitioned one way or another at some point anyway. If an all-out Civil War takes place it is likely that Iran will take over the Southern region while the Sunni take over most Northwestern regions along with the Kurds holding on to the Northeastern region. I think this is all inevitable at this point so we might as well take the lead and do this before it takes an incredibly bloody and destabilizing Civil War to accomplish this partitioning. There are only two choices left at this point in my opinion. We ourselves can take the lead and be involved with a fair and just partitioning that possibly leads to peace or simply not be involved at all and allow Iran to decide how to partition Iraq. I really dont like that second choice at all. It can still be a "One Nation" Iraq but with realistic separation. Anyway thats just my opinion. I really would like to hear other's opinions on this issue. Thanks and enjoy your day.
Plagiarist though he is, Joe Biden probably uses paragraphs.
Post short commentaries as replies on existing threads - not as new articles.
The only advice I would trust Biden with is on hairplugs, and even that is questionable.
And he would probably plagiarize that, too.
The partition idea was floated a long time ago, before Biden jumped on the idea. Back then Turkey was making threats of military action if the Kurds got their own land.
Joe Biden plug.

Welcome aboard, DU too crowded?
I'm watching for the thread over there asking for help dealing with the FReeper responses.
Welcome to Fr.
Biden is a pompous self important.. can't say it on FR.
Partitioning will only make it easier for sectarian groups (Al Qeada) to concentrate their hold on various groups and promote misery.
Remember the cultural MELTING OT idea the U.S. initially was?
That is what would work if the idea could be introduced and took hold.
Oh yeah... forgot about the libs darling idea of multi-culturalism.
No... partioning will lead to a northern Kurdish state... a southern Iranian satellite... and a central, al Qada Caliphate. Lets stick it out until our growing 'problem' with Iran gets settled.
Biden said the US could not adequately train Iraqis to provide security for elections in 2005.
The US did train such forces and they successfully secured three elections attended by 8-10 million people each.
Biden has not been right about any of his pronouncements or suggestions for Iraq thus far.
Partitioning was done as part of the liberation of Iraq. To some degree it is allowable as a principal of federalism within the new constitution.
The MOST reliable aspect of Biden's career in the Senate - is that he has been consistently wrong and an unreliable defender of the Republic and the Constitution.
On those few occasions when he did sound intelligent it turned out he plagiarized the statement...
Biden current position of U.S. Senator is far beyond his capablity..
He has become the icon of the Peter Principal.
