Mark my words, this will end up being the game that gives us a college playoff. Let's hope so!

Fabulous game...one of the best I've ever seen.
I'm very happy Boise State ended up winning this great game. Boise is a great town, one of my favorites. Great to see the mountain west moving into the big time.

Sorry, I know the whole strength of schedule argument (which is crap IMHO), but this WAS the best bowl game ever. Well, that's what a lot of people said after last year's Rose Bowl.

You took the opportunity to rip on two young people and their big moment. Pretty revealing I'd say.

Best game ever notwithstanding, had they been in the SEC they wouldn't have been in a bowl game. But kudos to the Bobby Bowden strategy of getting to be the only decent team in a crap conference thus getting an assured bowl game. It's good for recruiting...

#9 beat #7 in OT. That's not a massive upset of the BCS system. Apparently they were fairly evenly matched and ranked.
The BCS is designed to rank schools based upon who they play and how well they whip them. It wasn't designed to force out smaller schools. A team shouldn't get to the national title because they play a ton of easy games.

And now Ian Johnson proposes to his cheerleader girlfriend Live on the field during an interview.. Smoooooth! A big lead lost. A tie. A huge interception. A lateral. A "Statue of Liberty" play to end it. A star player proposes to his cheerleader girlfriend in the postgame.
Is there anything else they could have crammed into this game? Un-freaking-believable!

I thought Boise St. was toast after the interception, for sure.
I remember Big Red and some of their games in the 60s and 70s against Texas and Oklahoma, great games.

I was very impressed with BSUs defense for most of the game, but it was clear at the end, they didn't have much left in the tank.
I think that's why they felt they needed to go for two in the OT.

The big schools were shocked and disgusted when Brigham Young University won the national championship in '85 and the BCS was designed to prevent that from ever happening again.I remember it well. BYU beat Schembechler's Wolverines in the Holiday Bowl to go undefeated. All the "important" teams (Including Michigan, which had just gotten thumped) were outraged that a team as clearly "inferior" as BYU would have the gall to go undefeated.
Just like Boise State this year.
If Florida beats Ohio State I think Boise ought to be crowned champs (but, of course, won't be). Going undefeated is incredibly hard to do.

And the starting running back proposes to the head cheerleader on national television, she says yes, and they live happliy ever after. The end. "Only in America"!

IMO opinion the best bowl game I ever saw was the 2002 title game between Miami and Ohio. People have a short memory of "best game ever".
My excuse if I'm too young to have watched decades of college games which is why 2003 is as far back as I remember.
