I'm talking about the 'big guys' like Michigan, OSU, etc. If you think BSU plays fluff teams all the time, then who is the fluffiest is inconsequential.

I'm usually an SC fan, but if UCLA has a shot at a championship, I'll root for them.

The nation's post-season awards are coming in for Boise State. Tailback Ian Johnson has been named to two All-America teams so far, while tackle Ryan Clady has garnered a spot on the second team. (Photo provided by Foto208.com--all rights reserved.)

Boise State’s Ian Johnson became the second All-American in school history as the super sophomore was named to both the Sports Illustrated.com and the CBS Sportsline first teams. Offensive tackle Ryan Clady made SI.com’s second team.

Johnson is currently second in the nation in rushing with 158.33 yards per game and leads the country in scoring with 13.09 points per game. Johnson, who eclipsed Brock Forsey’s rushing record this season (1,613 yards) despite missing the Utah State game with a partially collapsed lung, is also fifth in all-purpose rushing with 151.27 yards per contest.

Johnson joins former Bronco great Daryn Colledge as an All-American; Colledge was named to the College Football News and dopke.com first teams.

Quinton Jones earned a spot on The Sporting News second team last season and Tyler Jones and Jared Zabransky earned second-team spots in 2004. Other All-America selections were Quintin Mikell (third-team in The Sporting

Now see, in 96 they lost late in the season but were granted a rematch against FSU for the championship game which they won. Someone else should have had that spot.

If the precedent had held then they should not be in this year's game.

I remember yelling at the TV that the Miami guy held the OSU's guy's jersey. Should have been 1st down OSU.

That Nebraska was supposed to roll over UM in 1983 was conventional wisdom but that's only because people didn't understand the impact that speed would have on a game.

I thought the Nebraska UM rematch in 1995 was a great game as well.

And like I said, you're crazy if you think defeating Tulane is the same as defeating Auburn.

Yeah right. Go back and tell me you didn't see the Miami DB holding the OSU receiver's jersey on that 3rd down play with 2 minutes left. Clear as day and the refs didn't call it.

BSU didn't play fluff treams the entire year. Their schedule was mediocre but the pounding they gave to them racked up the points. They were appropriately ranked IMO. and this victory shows that they were a top team this year. But to say they deserved a shot at the title is stretching it thin.

It's not their fault it is not the PAC 12. Boise State went from 1-AA to 1-A and went to WAC because that was what was available. Beating the Big 12 Champs, Oregon State, Hawaii, and other teams with winning records like Nevada and San Jose State is all they could do.

By the way, it looks like the SEC teams have not done well this year in the bowls.

Plenty of people down here in Florida respected Ohio State. It was not as much of a huge upset as Buckeye Fans tried to imagine it to be. Miami was favored, but not by much.

That said, the game was not "stolen" by the ref, imho. OSU won it fair and square, methinks, and simply outplayed Miami. The Hurricanes were good that day; the Buckeyes were better.

I think OSU will probably give the Gators a good beating next Saturday Night, btw. However, I'm a big proponent of the playoff system. A team like the Broncos should advance to the BCS Championship Game instead of this whorish arrangement, concocted by Mafiosi and Hitlerjugend Division veterans down in Argentina at a conference at Josef Mengele's old estate. What we have now is a situation in which the freaking Gators get to play OSU while a better team, the Broncos, have to go back home to Idaho.

OSU will crush the Gators' testicles. Then in penance for the fact that the Buckeyes actually had to lower themselves by playing the Gators, the OSU Players will march through Columbus, whipping themselves bloody with chains like Shi'ite pilgrims at Karbala.

It won't be pretty. It will be that one-sided a game.

Be Seeing You,

Chris

I think you are absolutely correct. He would not be my first choice. I've not heard the exact terms of 'Bama's offer so I don't know what kind of buyout in is the offer. Perhaps it will be high enough to make Saban stay for a while but then the NFL could afford it.

Spare us the "SEC is oh so mighty" BS. Boise blew away Oregon St 42-14, the same Oregon St. that beat USC. USC was kinda impressive today, yes? And when they blew out SEC West champ Ark. And hey, how did Tenn. and Ark. do today? Auburn was handed a squeaker win by lousy Nebraska coaching (4-loss, now 5-loss Nebraska) that was spanked by the same OU that just lost to Boise St.

Maybe if more SEC teams would get away from their 7 home game schedule and play a few more decent non-conference teams ya'll would better understand how good some of those teams from other conferences are. Which of course is why most SEC teams duck tough non-conference games.

As a Sooner fan my hat is off to the potato boys. Boise State could have collapsed after the Sooners took the lead with one minute, but they fought like champions. Great game even though my team lost.

There has been talk of Boise joining the PAC 10 in the next few years along with another team, perhaps Fresno, to make it the PAC 12. Would have a North and South division and a playoff N vrs S to decide the champ.
