This is likely a Darwin contender, by the way.

"There was makeup all over the air bag," said a police source.
And hamburger all over the highway...

I've been on the Henry Hudson... totally by mistake and I can't imagine putting on makeup and not paying attention :( People who think they don't have faith anything should realise they DO have a tremendous amount of faith. You put your life in the hands of other people to drive properly everyday. When I used to ride a scooter, I became acutely aware of this. I must be the only cager who stays away from trucks on the Interstate. If you're putting on lipsticks while driving, how can you see the delivery trucks about to pass you on the right eh? Not everyone should get a license!

someone driving a 3K-5K pound vehicle I'm just being fussy here, but most vehicles are between 3,000 lbs and 5,500 lbs. Think Chevy Aveo at the low end, Escalade at the upper end. The numbers you cite are 6,000 to 10,000 lbs. At the upper end, we're talking delivery truck. Which, of course, no one would want to get hit by. Again, just being fussy.

It's even worse to make others aware of it, causing them to laugh inappropriately too.

I'm sure Rush will be all over this story.
Hopefully she left a good-looking corpse.

Last night I came within inches of getting T boned at high speed. I was on my cell phone.
My own stupidity. Lesson learned.

I completely agree with the sentiment of your post. Add to it that cars these days are so comfortable and convenience-rich that people are tempted to think they are at home in their living room---not driving a car at 75-80 MPH on the highway. So it's therefore not out of the realm of possiblity that they would think it okay to apply make-up, read a newspaper, book, or magazine, etc., while driving.

He said 3K-5K. Who cited 6K to 10K?

D'oh!!!! Guilty of posting without sufficient caffeine levels, early in the morning. You're right. I somehow thought he said 3 to 5 tons. 3k to 5k is exactly what I told him was the weight range.
Again, D'ohh!!!!!! You just can't get away with anything on this forum. :-)
