If we get all the members of FR to join, how many members does this party have?

Last weekend former Rep. Bob Barr left the GOP and joined the Libertarians. Ron Paul could have said: "Been there, done that!"

Considering that most good conservatives are already pubbies, why not reform the party. Third party is a ticket to nowhere. Ask Patsy Buchanan.

For the last two years I've been telling everyone who would listen that the first Tuesday in November was a day to stay home. Many did.
Now it's time to think about bolder things.
The republicans have failed us.

Gee, has it occurred to you to actually
start working at the local level and get qualified candidates on the ballot?
You're NOT going to have success with any kind of 'splinter' group ...

Well you could join the Constipation Party and save yourself the trouble....
They are just about as irrelevant as any other 3rd party out there...

I know what you mean. If any of most of the proposed candidates gets the nomination, unless they pick Tancredo, I'll likely vote Constitution Party in 08. And I would hate to do so, as they should not run presidential candidates until they get candidates elected to higher offices than state legislatures.

I think it is time to take the Rosie O'Donnell wing of the Republican party, who equate the conservatives with the Taliban, and kick them in the teeth...
It wasn't conservatives who stayed home this time around, it was the dope smoking, pro homo liberal-tarians who did that or voted for the rats...
Don't believe the crap talking turd heads in the media... it is a secret ballot...

Said another way, the republicans are part of the problem, and no part of any solution. It's a good thing then that we have your dumbass post to save our homeland.

That is needed but most of our present third parties are abysmal failures. I know; I belong to one. A new conservative party should be concerned first about winning statehouses and getting into the house of representatives. Too many third parties seem to me to be nothing more than cults of personality for their leaders.
A real third party needs to accept federal funding which the Constitution party does not. It could run on reversing affirmative action, total reprisal against ARAB states from which terrorists come, sealing the border and mass deporting illegals as well as perp walking the owners of companies hiring them and finally reforming the legal system to remove rule by judicial fiat. Those things could be done on the federal level. Locally a third party could vote against property taxes and eminent domain.
A real third party should appeal to emotionalism: I hate to say it but like the democrats do. Assaulting freedom is an emotional issue. Americans my age (forties) sometimes are astounded at the limits on speech these days; something our parents never had to deal with. This country is still a Christian, primarily white nation. If those voters were energized that could reverse fifty years of socialism.

Do you honestly believe that the GOP is a conservative only party? If so why? I agree with you in that if that is what you are after then the GOP isn't your political home...
I also think you and the other 'its me and my beliefs or nothing else' group are destined to be regulated to the fringes of the political arena. Your group has little to no chance of electing a single person to the presidency or other national or in most cases statewide offices.
However you may well elect members of your group to local and county wide offices. That is the place to start in order to reach a national level. JMO.

Guess you really want Rodham-Clinton to be elected, as Clinton was elected twice when there was a third party to siphon off a Republican constituency.
If you can't take over a party, you have no chance to take over the country.

We have to define and prioritize what we mean by "conservative issues," first. It means too many things to different people.
