It may well be time for a new conservative political party. The republicans have failed, and failed big-time to deliver for conservative causes. They seem inclined to nominate CINO only like Rudy Guliani or John McCain, and neither of those candidates is gonna do one thing for conservative issues.
Said another way, the republicans are part of the problem, and no part of any solution.
But it IS time, to make substantive changes, and the GOP seems not to be part of them.
Hi, Hillary.
I did exactly that. I worked on the campaign of a conservative Republican congressional candidate who was a great candidate. He had already served as a State Representative, even as the Republican Majority Whip, and had a good conservative record in office and in other activities. The Republican establishment picked a liberal RINO jerk-wad to run against him, spent millions to get the liberal weasel elected, and when things didn't look good at all for him started a campaign of outrageous lies. The State Party, despite their promises, did nothing to make the lying ass campaign fairly in the primary. In fact, behind the scenes, they supported him.
Then the National Republican Congressional Committee took the unprecedented step to put money IN THE PRIMARY to support the liar weasel RINO candidate. More lies were spread. The state party did nothing, because they quietly supported the RINO.
Well, the conservative candidate won the Primary anyway. But the damage had been done by the RINO liar and the lies stuck. Despite promises of money and help from the NRCC and the state party, NONE of that happened in the General. The Republican Party from the state level up to the national level abandoned this conservative candidate and gave up the congressional district to the Democrat.
Hundreds of people worked for 3 years at the local level to get this qualified, excellent candidate on the ballot and elected. The state and national party didn't care. They came in and tried to push us aside for their coronated RINO scum candidate. They didn't (and still don't) care about what the grassroots Republicans want. They had their own plans and it involved only liberalism.
So, that's where working at the local level to get a qualified candidate on the ballot will get you.
You're NOT going to have success with any kind of 'splinter' group ...
Tell that to the Republican Party. Ever heard of the Whig Party?
"For the last two years I've been telling everyone who would listen that the first Tuesday in November was a day to stay home. Many did."
Thanks for giving us Pelosi, then. I'll be pinging you to EVERY thread showing the foolishness she and her socialists hand us every day for the next two years...and beyond.
I'll be starting with their "100 Hours of Mahem" the minute they come back to session.
Thanks again to you nattering neighbobs of negativity. Yeesh.
It would be a forced reformation at best. Those at the top don't really care for us "huddled masses" just like the Dems we're a means to an end. My experience with grass roots stuff has really disillusioned me. We're treated like an annoyance at best and treated like whiney kids by the folks in office usually. "Sure lil' Johnny, i'll think about taking you to Chuckie Cheese if you vote for me next year" That's what i felt like when I'd call thier offices.
Term limits, and The FairTax, that's about the only good answer I can think of.
I think it is time to take the Rosie O'Donnell wing of the Republican party, who equate the conservatives with the Taliban, and kick them in the teeth...
If that means voting with my feet in the '08 general election, fine...
Go for it.
How about doing a search too, and showing me what Dennis Hassert did for me whil he held that office---cause truth is, I can't remember them.
It's a good thing then that we have your dumbass post to save our homeland.
It wasn't conservatives who stayed home this time around, it was the dope smoking, pro homo liberal-tarians who did that or voted for the rats...
(Visualize the fat comic store owner on the Simpsons)Dumbest Statement ever!
ps...I think neighbobs is spelled, naybobs.
Just leave the country. Your government has obviously failed you.
Do you honestly believe that the GOP is a conservative only party? If so why? I agree with you in that if that is what you are after then the GOP isn't your political home...
I also think you and the other 'its me and my beliefs or nothing else' group are destined to be regulated to the fringes of the political arena. Your group has little to no chance of electing a single person to the presidency or other national or in most cases statewide offices.
However you may well elect members of your group to local and county wide offices. That is the place to start in order to reach a national level. JMO.
Guess you really want Rodham-Clinton to be elected, as Clinton was elected twice when there was a third party to siphon off a Republican constituency.
If you can't take over a party, you have no chance to take over the country.
no.
great country.
but the government HAS failed me.
no.
That's really not it.
But i also want no more republican sell-outs to be elected. I'm serious. They're no good for me, I've had it with them, and if they can't get their act together, they're history.
HISTORY!
Get it!
That's Over.
And by the way, I'm pretty much doubting the gop can get their act together.
I think it's over for them as a viable political party.
I'm in if they call it the Nukem Party.
Interesting Name. Personally I favor Social Conservatives. Whatever!
Good point
