I have seen the ads yesterday and now today! One is two gay men and the other is two lesbian women. This is a car ad folks and it is nothing more than a car for for gays and lesbians! I'm totally disgusted and goin to tell Lexus I will not ever buy any of their products!
Disgusting!

Actually I'm in the market for one and these were on my list. The decision is getting easier and easier.

did you see the one with the women? The one woman is looking the other up and down! Yeah, and I'll tell you what that is. Chicks do that all the time. It's the wardrobe. My wife admits that all the women in her office try to outdress each other.

That's how I, too, perceived the advertisement.

Just because you disagree about the content of the commerical doesn't mean you should be calling me dense. So rude!Sorry, but he's dead on, and I don't see any rudeness.

Seriously, is this a joke? No. This is exactly the reaction that Lexus (Toyota) wanted to its new ad campaign.
If not, they wouldn't have cast men who are clearly effeminate.
They want people to be unsure so as to create a buzz.

I didn't get that reaction.
They looked like two married guys (married to women) talking about a Lexus.

I dunno. I don't watch gay ads. Besides, I'm a BMW fan myself.

"I don't know about that commerical but I'm not going to buy a chevy truck after seeing that commerical "This is Our Country""
That Silverado commercial generated a lot of debate among automotive marketers. Those on the left were upset because of the commercialization of King and Parks. Those on the right were upset because it portrayed the U.S. in a negative light.
Chevy still uses the same John Mellencamp lyrics but not shows different (non-controversial) visuals.
Unfortunately, auto manufacturers pay too much attention to their ad agencies, which are more interested in being provocative than selling cars.

Business is busiiness, a buyer is a buyer. What is your issue? Do you think advertisers should boycott gays or something?

Uhm, Lexus is a division of Toyota, and is owned by its shareholders. It is a public company.

It is totally freeking obvious: a buggerer is buying a car for his buggeree! Is there any possibility that there's some projection going on here?
They might be gay but in the commercial they're neighbors.

That Silverado commercial generated a lot of debateSeeing the clip of a wildfire in the commercial did it for me. It was airing a week after those five firefighters were killed in California during a forest fire.

It seemed very apparent to me that the people in the ads were neighbors unsure of which spouse gave them the car as a present. To me as well.

Is there any possibility that there's some projection going on here? No. I don't have a penchant for the Turkish Vice. I don't even like poo....
I think you're projecting that they are neighbors 'cuz you can't deal with a queer commercial.
I must have seen those commercials half a dozen times last night on The Golf Channel....

They need to make a "Man-Law" commercial about these gays.
To: Bon mots
This car does not look safe for a rear end impact.
Like the fan in the back row of the upper deck shouting about the bad call by the umpire who was a few feet from the action.
I think I'll trust the engineers over a safety analysis based merely on glancing at brochure photos.
