I have seen the ads yesterday and now today! One is two gay men and the other is two lesbian women. This is a car ad folks and it is nothing more than a car for for gays and lesbians! I'm totally disgusted and goin to tell Lexus I will not ever buy any of their products!
Disgusting!
Why would they alienate others to cater to 5% of the population?
How would a couple of effeminate guys swooning over a car and making double entendres help sell me a car?
You need to take off the tin foil hat and look again. The ad with the two guys would not make sense if it was a gay couple??
Personally, I despise that song.
Good point. They must all be gay. Or at least 50%+1 of them.
"Why don't you go to church, cause you you need to learn how to be kind to other's!"
Gave that up for racing when I was 8 and work at being mean and obnoxious!
Besides that, my wife is after me to trade in her Lexis for a new one that self parallel parks.
Don't forget the Plymouth Lancer. Oh wait, they stopped making that one.
First of all, who would buy one of these incredibly stupid cars. Buy a Honda Civic, pay less for gas and get 5 star protection. Only a complete a-hole would buy a Lexus. Hell, just buy and Avalon! Same thing!
What do I know? I'm a woman. I'm not gay. In fact, I'm stricly dickly.
That's all I can add to this thread.
I never thought I would read a sentence like that. The homosexual dollar.
That tears it! Buy a Toyota instead, and send those twinkle-toed faggots a message!
Nope, just the marketing director:
Bolain, a 20-year Toyota employee, lead Lexus into the gay market. "Being gay myself, I'm aware of how critical the market and its income are. I've got all that hardwired into me," he says. "There's a predisposition in our community towards luxury goods, so why shouldn't Lexus be among them?"
Boy you guys are naive....
I saw a VW commercial where a man was in his Jetta with a Dog!!!!!!!
I WONDER what that could mean?
Weird they just showed one of the commercials
oh my.....goodness. I'm ROFL at this thread!
First, I do think there is disagreement about the commercial. The poster may have jumped the gun on the interpretation.
Second, nobody buys a car by looking at a commercial. All the commercial does is get the name out.
Third, gay men have big disposable income, are ardent consumers and buy luxury items from what I see.
And how would it alienate any reasonable person if gays were targets of advertising. Football fans are targeted for advertising. I hate football. I think it is an abominable sport but if I liked something targeted to a football fan, it would not affect my choice.
But whatever you want. Just don't expect people to get on board with this latest looney boycott.
I saw the commercial too. At first, I thought the guys were gay. Then I thought they were neighbors. It isn't until one of them admits he already cleaned out the garage that I realized that, yes, this is a gay couple. It is extremely ambiguous, as I'm sure was intended.
The version I saw didn't show them walking out of separate houses.
Kinda makes you need to wash your hands more, eh?
Must be nice! I can only afford to boycott mid-size models
