Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.
Psalm 127:1>
At this time, when feelings run high, the world seems crazy, and anger seems to be the one thing the peoples of the world have in common, I invite you, my fellow FReepers, to join me in prayers and meditation for guidance, God's help and for our fellow man, for America, our troops, and all our own needs.
Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
That calls me from a world of care,
And bids me at my Fathers throne
Make all my wants and wishes known.
In seasons of distress and grief,
My soul has often found relief
And oft escaped the tempters snare
By thy return, sweet hour of prayer!
William Bradbury
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear though the earth should change,
though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea;
though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble with its tumult.
Psalm 46: 1-3
Morning prayer ping!
O Lord,
This morning when my heart aches not just over the evil that man does by weapon, but also by words that sound peacable, but mean "I will sacrifice you for my comfort because you aren't worth my effort to help," and "I will sacrifice you to get back at my enemy," I can do no more than ask you for mercy, first, for those who are being sacrificed for the anger, hate and indifference of others, and then for those who try to help them, and especially for the hard hearts of those who are doing this evil.
Help us, Lord, to see not with our eyes stained by sin, but with your eyes. The whole world groans with such suffering and misery. Have mercy on us. Help we who love you be your hands. Help we who love you speak with your voice, and not the voice of our fears and prejudices and hurts. Help we who love you be that salt and light and leaven you ask us to be, and make what differences we can by our words, actions, choices and witness.
Be thou our light and vision, this day and always.
In the name of Jesus, I ask this of thee o Father,
Amen.
I have a prayer request if you don't mind.
I had what I thought was a wonderful marriage. I stayed home, homeschooled the kids up until a year ago. The kids and I found out that my husband was and still is having an affair. Since we found out he began drinking heavily and evnetually in June of this year, moved out. He is coming over a few times each week to visit but no move back into the house and no talk of divorce.
Please pray for my family, for God to open my husband's heart and eyes and to remove him from the bondage he is under.
Thank you so much.
Prayers for you and yours...That is a hard place to be.
I will pray too.
Thank you for your prayers.
I know there is power in prayer which makes our difficulties a little easier to deal with.
I am thankful there is a prayer thread here.
THERE IS POWER IN THE BLOOD ~
Would you be free from the burden of sin?
Theres power in the blood, power in the blood;
Would you oer evil a victory win?
Theres wonderful power in the blood.
Refrain
There is power, power, wonder working power
In the blood of the Lamb;
There is power, power, wonder working power
In the precious blood of the Lamb.
Thanks. By the way, he is living with other woman at other woman's daughter's home along with other members of her family, as well as two small grandkids over there. What a horrible example these kids have to see.
I love that song...I can still remember hearing it at the church my grandma went...how it felt to feel your voice soar on singing the refrain, and how there was this one lady who was always slightly off key, and sharp...
Power in the blood of the Lamb -
what a wonderful power, power to turn us from doomed pitiful creatures to sons of the living God. Amen!
We'll pray for your family...

praying for you!
Isa 59:12 How often have we sinned and turned against you, the LORD God? Our sins condemn us! We have done wrong.
Isa 59:13 We have rebelled and refused to follow you. Our hearts were deceitful, and so we lied; we planned to abuse others and turn our backs on you.
Isa 59:14 Injustice is everywhere; justice seems far away. Truth is chased out of court; honesty is shoved aside.
Isa 59:15 Everyone tells lies; those who turn from crime end up ruined. When the LORD noticed that justice had disappeared, he became very displeased.
Isa 59:16 It disgusted him even more to learn that no one would do a thing about it. So with his own powerful arm, he won victories for truth.
Father we confess that we need forgiveness. We long to see our country turned to you in love and obedience and worship.
Psa 43:3 Send out your light and your truth; let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy hill and to your dwelling!
Lord we trust in you. We look for your mercy. WE WILL PRAY FOR REPENTANCE AND REVIVAL UNTIL IT COMES.
Act 22:6 "As I was on my way and drew near to Damascus, about noon a great light from heaven suddenly shone around me.
Bring your Light and lead us.
In the Name of Jesus.
I am so thankful I found this thread as I am enjoying the prayers.lyrics and I pray for all of you.
Just as I finished reading the lyrics, I received a phone call for a second job interview with the same company.
This thread has been a wonderful inspiration.
