I guess this is what the fuss was about with him supposedly making fun of Michael J. Fox.

I'm very sorry that your family members have suffered, best thoughts and prayers to you and yours.
If you have a medical condition you don't "skip" your medication just for show.
I have Epilepsy, should I stop taking my medication to show everyone the ravages of it?
I heard the show live too. He absolutely was not mocking Fox. The whole point was about erroneously making claims about a political candidate that were just not correct, and ~using~ his obvious disease to help make the point.
In fact... Rush was pretty specific that it wasn't even the use of his disease that was the problem. It was an effective technique-- but a pretty cynical political maneuver.
Which it was. Nothing that Rush said was factually wrong or out of bounds. It was a genuine criticism of a plainly partisan maneuver.

This crap has me so PISSED. I'm on my last good nerve with people who are *icking around with this. Shameful.
I would like the guy to get better and hope they find a "cure", just like i hope they find one for Epilepsy but I would not want to take a live or lives so that I could be "cured" of Epilepsy. (Yes its bad I just had a seizure about a month ago and can't even drive for 6mo-1yr)
I've mentioned on the board that I lost my little sissy to brain cancer. She suffered for years but also had the best of medical treatment and care, through multiple surgeries, radiation and chemo courses, and gamma knives. One of her complications was adult-onset Epilepsy. I know all too well how important and serious it is to take medications as directed...without hesitation for ulterior motive. I cannot fathom such a concept. It would be, among so many other things, very cruel to loved ones.
Anyway, I'll be thinking of you, ET, from here forward, and pray for your daily improved health and well-being. Take care. Be good--no illegal road trips or anything. ;-)
thanks, I offered to be a guinea pig for any type of brain surgery thats available but my doc said no. :(

well, actually(2 doctors have refused surgery or guinea pig trials), oh well... I just wanted to help them if I could. I guess my condition isn't isolated enough to know where to start for surgery or something.
I think it must gall Rush that Fox uses the old argument from emotion, shaking and tremoring to get people's agreement on whatever it was he was arguing for. Rush never plays that card, even though he's stone deaf, has an equally disabling handicap that could have robbed him of his career. But it didn't because Rush picked himself up, dusted himself off and kept on going. Even with his addiction to pain meds, he still didn't whine about his emotional problems. I like his dignity.

The DNC is in full attackmode to try to counter the overwhelmimg force Rush brings to the fray. He has called their bluff bu truthfully pointing out the fact that M Fox is subverting the truth by claiming if people don't support stemcell legislation he will die. That is simply not true. There is no, that is none, research underway on stem cells that shows any indication whatsoever of a cure for Parkinsons.
Rush has called their bluff and they are ballistic. They are following up with absolute lies and complete distortion and they have sucked you in. You went like a mouse for the cheese and they whacked you.
For truth of the matter listen to Rrush.

Consider a minute: Do you think Clinton would do something as reprehensible as putblicly accuse a woman of lying when she had DNA evidence proving she was telling the truth? Even if we stipulate, for the sake of argument, that he is a cynical and evil man, we have to grant a certain native cunning. SO it is hard to think he would do something at once so stupid and so vicious.
If your argument has a speck of validity, Clinton was innocent, period, end of discussion. QED.
