Oops, cut part of the list off:
SCEA Launch Titles:
Resistance: Fall of Man
NBA 07
Genji: Days of the Blade
No Space Invaders or Pac-Man or Asteroids?...........
What about "Traveling Madden 2006", Wherein the player makes his way across America in a bus with 7 refridgerators in it?
What? No Jak, Sly, or Ratchet?
That's the most pathetic launch lineup since the Saturn.
There's two games on there not already on or will be simultaneously released on the Xbox 360.
NBA 07 is an EA Sports game not an SCEA game.
So basically the PS3 is launching at $600 with a lot of Xbox 360 games you can play on a machine that costs $200 less plus Resistance: Fall of Man and Genji: Days of the Blade.
This thing is such a white elephant. At least those two games are a marked improvement from the SCEA performance at the PS2 launch when all they had was Fantavision.
Anyone remember Fantavision? Didn't think so.
This thing is going to sink like a rock.
But with the blue laser shortage, it's not like I'll be able to get my hands on a PS3 until next year anyway.
I remember kids in grade school saving to buy a NES, but they could only buy one game afterwards because of the price.
Sometimes only one controller, if I recall(?)
Sony unveils net service for PS3
Including:
A custom built version of the Opera browser is included in the PlayStation 3 for using the net.
Actually, I remember the NES comming with a second controller. One controller is standard now, though.
In a bid to show off the high-definition abilities of the PS3 Sony said that the first 500,000 consoles sold in North America will include a free copy of the Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby comedy that stars Will Ferrell.
Yawn...
Most of the titles are either sequels or games that have been available on other platforms (PC) for a couple of years.
The Giant Enemy Crab says: "RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDGE RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACER!"
I was holding out for the PS3 because of MGS 4. Dead Rising has me leaning towards picking up a 360, though.
PS3, might be too little too late, but it would be a shame if it doesn't gain some measure of success, because Sony is REALLY pushing the envelope. The CPU(s) in that machine are something else.
Based on the rush of people attempting to pre-order the PS3 from Gamestop and EBGames a few weeks ago, I don't think it will sink that fast. NBA 07 isn't from EA; NBA Live is the NBA game. Either way, NBA 2K7 is supposedly heads and tails above the rest.
