Things are quiet and peaceful in small-town Jericho, Kansas, but when a baffling explosion occurs in the distance, Jericho's residents are plunged into social, psychological and physical chaos. No one knows what to think, and fear of the unknown takes over the town, especially because its isolation cuts it off from outside help. When nearly everything they know seems gone, will the residents of JERICHO band together to face their unfamiliar and mysterious new world?
Of course, this being basically a soap opera, none of it really matters ...
Tonight's show fell into the corny zone for me. Spending a fourth of the show on that stupid library fire was unnecessary. And then the clapping at the end as the firemen brought out the books from the library was just dumb. Great ending no doubt and definitely enough to keep me watching, but really a flat episode up until the end.
This seems to be the show format. Lots of yack about 'relationships' mixed with Safety Tips Of The Week.
This week was about how to survive in a burning building.
I was surprised that the shcok victim didn't get immediate CPR -- guess she was unconscious but breathing...
There are significant elements of this which are similar to the last couple parts of "Origins of the Fourth World War."
Mr Hawkins' first name is Rob.
Oh really? That's interesting. I noticed they had more morse code this episode but it sounded like it started the same. I'll get mom on the case when I get a chance.
Well done. I enjoy the show. Thought ringing telephones at beginning very creepy, and missiles at end very disturbing. Fire scenes kind of made-for-tv-movie-ish, but understand they need filler. My thoughts: I would be shocked if they make the one black guy the villain. It's Hollywood...
I meant your analysis was well done. I do like the show too...
I also think the show could be like the Geena Davis show, but in reverse: helpful to the grownups in DC (Repubs).
I love that poster! :)
could you add me to your ping list? I've gotten addicted to this show.
(And when does House start again? Not to mention the Jack Bauer Pauer Hauer!)
Looks like the entire state tilts to the right. :)

about the Morse code. I can't vouch for the accuracy of the interpretation, but they are saying that during the second show the code was:
In the first scene: "..delta code delta 2 minute warning.."
In the second scene: "..score remains scoreless..."
Another poster notes the following:
The first bit of Morse said "DELTA CODE DELTA 2 MINUTE WARNING"
It didn't mean much to me but the DOD does use a system called FPCON which uses levels similar to DEFCON, but with letters:
FPCON DELTA describes a situation when a terrorist attack is taking place or has just occurred. When applied for long periods of time, FPCON DELTA can cause hardships for civilian police and the public, as heightened agency security can impede their everyday duties. FPCON DELTA usually occurs only in the areas that are most vulnerable to or have been attacked.

Another poster noted that the Morse code at the beginning of the show was the following:
The first one said "Jericho" The second episode said "Jericho fallout" The third episode said "Jericho three". During the Jericho logo on the latest episode, the code reads "He knows Rob".
