In an blockbusting EXCLUSIVE interview on Dateline NBC, correspondent Matt Lauer sat down with Debra Lafave, the 23 year-old teacher who had sex with a 14 year-old boy on several occasions which made national headlines.
For some ungodly reason, NBC decided this was a groundbreaking story that needed to be told to America. I have one question…
Why is Debra Lafave on television?
There have been notable people who have earned the right to recognition. Boston drive time talk-jock and columnist Howie Carr was discussing her appearance with Cable and Broadcasting Magazine's senior editor, Max Robbins. Howie said early in his newspaper career an editor told him that it wasn't "sex" that sells it's "wet sex". And according to Howie this is wet sex.
They played some excerpts. It was as bad as you can imagine.
That seems to be the prevailing view, but I don't think that is the whole reason.

I can't imagine Matt Lauer giving a male pedophile who'd victimized a 14-yr old the kind of treatment he gave this deviant. For that matter, I can't imagine an ugly, older female who'd committed this crime getting this sort of treatment either. Beautiful young women definitely have a different sort of life.

I've wondered myself if this boy (child) was a 14yr old that looked 10 or 17. Just like girls, there is a lot of variance in how fast a teenager's body develops.
The moron fringe might have all looked and felt 'grown up' enough for sex at 14, but not all 14s are the same.

I heard on the news that part of the deal was that she didn't make any money from the interview.
