LOL -- absolutely right. Haliburton, GOP oil magnates --- going sky high after the election. Buy your Thanksgiving turkeys now, while you can afford one.
Darn it - it's still around $2.53 here in n.w. Illinois.
Of course there isn't.
have you never paid six bucks for a glass of beer at a football game b4 or five bucks for popcorn at a movie theater???
Yep, I made the decision that I valued their beer more than my money. It was their beer. They said if I wanted to drink it, I could if I paid them $5. I said yes. We made a deal, they didn't hold a gun to my head. They could have refused to sell it at all, it's THEIR beer.
(where they won't let you bring your own food & beverages) come on get real!LOL
I know! Ain't it a bitch! Next thing you know, restaurants won't let me bring my own steak!!! The frigging gougers!!!!
LOL
There is no such thing as gouging, only people who don't understand the nature of ownership and non coercive business arrangements.
"Someone please tell me what is so different now than 6 months ago to have caused this price drop other than an election being two months away?"
BushCo has opened its secret Silverado pumps and its loyal friends the Sauds have secretly doubled exports on the global markets. Cheney sent an army of Halliburton engineers up to Prudoe Bay to fix the pipeline, and Scooter Libby got Marc Rich to underbid the EU on oil futures until the election has been won.
Simple.
Tuesday saw $2.17 in Peggs, Oklahoma (you can't get there from here) while Broken Arrow (Murphy) saw $2.24.
But to be honest, the prices should be at $1.99 and the oil distributors are going slower than they did raising the prices last January-February.
Here in Tampa, 87 at my local BP/Amoco went from 2.99 to 2.69 in about a week. Don't know what it is today...probably even lower. The "killer" hurricane season in the Gulf of Mexico is not materializing, and gas prices are in a free fall. Ya gotta love it!
My oh my, what do the DemocRATS have left to complain about???
I agree with you. There is definitely price gouging going on (though I am not sure if it is at the distributor or at the retail levels)."
Did you ever consider geographical location as a factor? Nah, it's gotta be gouging.
Teehee.....I just called Schumer's office and asked if the Senator was in mourning that my gasoline was about a dollar less per gallon than at it's high!
First and foremost, Big Oil has decided to invest in Ethanol production. So Big Oil has decided to drive the price of gasoline down in order to discourage any further private investment in additional Ethanol plants.
Biorefineries are popping up like flies around the midwest (closest to the ingredients to make the product). The quicker this trend can be turned around, the happier Big Oil will be.
LOL! I'll run right out and do that now.
"Of course there isn't."
well you have obviously never owned a business before
I can take you to service stations in Los Angeles where the price of unleaded is ONE DOLLAR DIFFERENT. Heck, I can take you to two stations in Iowa 30 miles from each other where the price is 50 cents different!
gezzzzzzzz get a grip!
Location maybe? I see dumpy houses going for well over $500,000 in CA that wouldn't bring $75,000 back east. Would you think that would translate to any other commodity?
There's a gas station owner that sells gasoline about 20 cents over everyone else. He's a real pill. Has a petition to the state AG to stop Murphy's pricing guidelines, etc..
Dirty little secret: The guy has some agreement that has all city, county, and state vehicles buy his gasoline. Never see gov't vehicles at Murphy or Citgo, Conoco, Valero, etc. And he's complaining about unfair competition from Murphy's Oil. He's currently selling gasoline at 2.59 while Murphy's sells at 2.29.

30 plus years, I now own several.

You think having different prices is gouging. You are incorrect.
Heck, I can take you to two stations in Iowa 30 miles from each other where the price is 50 cents different!
So what? Someone owe you a lower price? People don't get to ask any price they want for something they own? You have a gun pointed at your head to pay their price?
gezzzzzzzz get a grip!
Ummmm, you have a liberal viewpoint on the market and property ownership, and I need to get a grip? Gezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I've always had a complete inability to do that, for Dems or any other politician. I just can't think that twisted. My wife, however, can even predict their stupid moves.

gezzzzzzzz get a grip!"
You sorta just proved yourself wrong. Classic definition of "price gouging":
n : pricing above the market when no alternative retailer is available
Bush, Rove actually, built a time machine travelled back to the founding of the Constitution and scheduled elections for November. November was picked because it was after 9/11, the end of summer driving season, and the end of hurricane season, etc.
Pure Rovian genius
No you didn't. Even if he has absolutely zero influence they will claim it's his responsibility when it's bad, but they remove responsibility when it's good so they don't have to praise him.
