Dreamland. Just as $100 per barrel alarmists were wrong (so far) the cheap oil believers will be also. The worldwide demand is still there and will only increase, especially as prices fall. I would expect prices to stabalize in the $50-60 range and not go below $50.
ha-ha! Everybody gets in on the tax act in NJ!!!!
The only good thing about it - there is no SELF SERVE. All gas is pumped by a station attendant. (They don't do windows) I like that part.
I knew I needed a sarcasm tag.
The POTUS has little to nothing to do with what we pay for gas.
"Someone please tell me what is so different now than 6 months ago to have caused this price drop other than an election being two months away?"
Last year Hurricane Katrina/Rita took a lot of capacity of gasoline off the market, therefore it took time for this supply to come back, thus prices moving up. Second, in the Spring, the US govt required a different blend of gasoline, thus refining that gas was more expensive and shortages appeared, thus prices moved up.
Therefore, recently, there has been an increase in supply, as well as a slight decline in demand (due to high prices) which in turn will bring prices down.
bttt
Are you kidding ? this is their worst nightmare come true; they probably think Karl Rove's Earthquake and Hurricane machine knocked a few deposits loose just in time for the elections. ;)
Ah, I get it. Oil will run out, but Natural gas won't.
It would make far more sense to use the natural gas than to inefficiently break the natural gas into hydrogen. In other words, you're advocating using _MORE_ natural gas than otherwise required to move a vehicle X distance down the road per given unit volume of natural gas.
I remember when it was $0.25/gal. <./sigh>

I'm sure the Democrats are jumping for joy at the prospect of gas prices under $2.00 just in time for the elections! LOL!
---
LOL!! I have already read articles accusing the Bush Admin of this "plot!"
don't be silly,
of course there is "gouging"
have you never paid six bucks for a glass of beer at a football game b4 or five bucks for popcorn at a movie theater???(where they won't let you bring your own food & beverages) come on get real!LOL
service stations compete and they will keep their prices up as long as their competition does and when their competition starts dropping then they will follow...
it's all very elementary my dear, Watson! LOL
Gas is about $2.34 9/10s here in Jacksonville, AL. However, I get gas out on Fort McClellan and paid $2.01 yesterday. So, close, so close.
you're dating yourself! LOL
and you were probably making 50 bucks a week then too!
The evil Big-Oil-White-House-Rovian-Gas Manipulation Machine hard at work.
Makes perfect sense to me. ;)
(Wonder if RB retread is one of those Bush is evil conspiracy theorists??)
P.S. We just came back from Wyoming on vacation. They are $2.89 to $3.15 (Buffalo, WY area). Got cheaper as we came back south to Alabama. Missouri was the best. Very nice considering we were paying nearly 3 per fill up out in WY. Must be the dem gov they have, but then they say conservative WY loves their dem governor.
He has clearly manipulated his Big Oil cronies to lower the price for the election. You have to learn to think like a Dem! (Just twist everything 180 degrees, and then twist back when it suits you......see??)
Oil is down
No Hurricanes have made landfall
Alaskan Pipeline isn't as bad as first thought
Iranian threat didn't materialize
Gas demand is slightly down compared to last year
Anything else you need anyone to explain to you?
$2.39 for regular at the discount stations in Northern VA.
It's dropping fast at the QT on HWY-92 near 75.
I usually get gas there.
Oskaloosa always has the cheapest fuel in the state. There is no explaination.
Osky had $2.03 when I drove thru there yesterday evening on my way home.
And it's VERY interesting that Casey's is offering the lowest price. Generally it is a Kum'n'Go (or maybe it's Git'n'Go) on the N side of 92 in the center of town with the lowest price.
