Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
|
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

And the worst part is that a little boy says, and I quote, "Oh fudge". An 8-year-old boy! The horror!

So, the doctor says to Nana, he says...
"You have to work to keep yourself out of a nursing home."
He reminded her that he's said in the past if she stops moving, she won't be able to start again. Told her to go to the grocery store with the Mrs. and push the cart around. Said she didn't have to put anything in the cart.
Wife pointed out that she uses the electric scooter at the store.
Dr. said, "you don't need that." Dr. asked about her three days of bed rest.
Wife said she turned it into four.
Dr. was pretty blunt and said he was a firm believer in exercise.
So, basically it was a "get off yer @$$" session.

Good. I'm sure it's hard for her, but it's not going to get easier later.

Off to get Luke and head to rehearsal. Wife is working until later.
Tonight is Act I, which is my "pretzel" scene this year.
Fortunately, while I'm only on stage for about 4 minutes, I get to stay through the whole 3 hour rehearsal.
So, there's that.
;-)

Box fan?
Um. No comments. I hope everything works out. Glad the docs told Nana to move.
It has now been one week since I was verbally told I was getting that job. I've had a call just about every day saying they're getting the paperwork all in order. Granted there was a guy out of town last week but it is starting to make me nervous.

"You have to work to keep yourself out of a nursing home." That's good advice for just about anyone, come to think of it.

Sometimes you just gotta let the poo hit the prop.
Then pass the Lysol to the responsible party.

While looking for more products for the Hobbit Hole "troop tech" project, I came across some items that might be useful here, or at least amusing.
First, an adapter for standard water bottles that includes a carabiner to attach the bottle to various rings. The main part seems to be rubber, and is pulled over the neck of the bottle:

Next, for lazy dog owners, a "snack shooter" that launches doggie disk treats:

And the last item from X-treemgeek catalog: the knifespork:

Finally, for biking or trail riding, a frontpack

Inside, it has all the room you need for ID, cellphone, money, MP3 player, and large handgun:

Does the spork vendor have a website. I'm thinking I *need* one or more of those for backpacking.

Hey... that frontpack is pretty stinkin' cool. I like it a lot.
The snackshooter would be fun, but you know... there's a downside to training a dog to jump up and out front of a person pointing a handgun. :-)
To: Corin Stormhands
You know, I'm not sure I've ever watched that all the way through...Just shocking. It's WAY better than ANY of the Santa Clause movies, I can assure you.

So, basically it was a "get off yer @$$" session.Good for the Doc, and I hope Nana takes it to heart. It WILL be the only thing keeping her out of a nursing home.

So I've heard. I'd promise to watch it this season, but I don't think I can handle something else on the "to do" list...
