"You have to work to keep yourself out of a nursing home."
He reminded her that he's said in the past if she stops moving, she won't be able to start again. Told her to go to the grocery store with the Mrs. and push the cart around. Said she didn't have to put anything in the cart.
Wife pointed out that she uses the electric scooter at the store.
Dr. said, "you don't need that." Dr. asked about her three days of bed rest.
Wife said she turned it into four.
Dr. was pretty blunt and said he was a firm believer in exercise.
So, basically it was a "get off yer @$$" session.
Good. I'm sure it's hard for her, but it's not going to get easier later.
Off to get Luke and head to rehearsal. Wife is working until later.
Tonight is Act I, which is my "pretzel" scene this year.
Fortunately, while I'm only on stage for about 4 minutes, I get to stay through the whole 3 hour rehearsal.
So, there's that.
;-)
That's good advice for just about anyone, come to think of it.
Good for the Doc, and I hope Nana takes it to heart. It WILL be the only thing keeping her out of a nursing home.
