Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
|
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Jeepers. You would think if it was safe anywhere, it'd be safe at church.
To: HairOfTheDog
Not really. With rehearsals and the young adult service (he was helping to set up for the service) there were probably 1,000 people or more through there that afternoon.
And the reality is we can't control access. We've had all kinds of things disappear during productions. So, most everyone knows to never leave anything of value in the dressing rooms.
You just never know.
Somebody took an entire ham from the kitchen last week.

Yeah, I know what you mean. When we were in NJ, our Choir Director/Organist would have musician friends of his from NYC come down and accompany us at Christmas and Easter. Once Christmas Eve, 5pm Mass, the cellist left her purse in a hallway that led directly to the outside. Sometime during Mass, someone came in, and stole her purse. Because she had no keys to get into her car and drive to NYC, she missed her next Christmas Eve gig. David felt SO bad for her, but it was a struggle enough finding someone to get the key made for her, and there was no way it was going to be in time to get her rolling.

Urgh...lunchtime writer's block...this time because amnesia chick is trying to get all philosophical on nature vs nurture and that.
Also I need to somehow work in behind-the-scenes stuff, and I haven't figured out how. If I'm telling all this story in the first person via one character or another, how do I go about telling some small part that wasn't witnessed by any of the main characters and which they don't even know about at the time? It's important.
*sigh*
That paragraph don't make no sense, do it?

It's a terrible, immoral movie. The dad says horrible things not meant for children's ears - things like rassafrazzle.
Eek!
< /Whatever FReeper it was that used to always bash the movie...>

Heh... I've known a lot of easily wilted wallflowers in my time, but that one was about the most delicate.

Heh...so the secret is to just stick in inexplicable elf smooching scenes?

You know, I'm not sure I've ever watched that all the way through...Not sure how you raised not just one child but two, without having seen it!
It's on for 24 hours straight on TNT every Christmas Eve. Sit down with the whole Stormhands family and watch it once!
