Schnitt just announced the breaking news. The DNA for JM Karr is NOT a match for Jon Benet evidence.
NO, HE WAS NOT IN JAIL IN THAILAND FOR ANYTHING.
The Boulder DA's office asked the Thai authorities to help with the investigation and then when they nabbed him, they held him in a jail over there until they get him extradited.
Maybe we'll get lucky and this sick little fruiter will be killed trying to escape.
One more time..."Thailand did not arrest John Karr for anything to do with anything..He was extradited.. "...sigh..
I give up..:)
sw
I don't think that's accurate about obstruction and false confession charges. There was a lawyer or former DA on who said he SHOULD be prosecuted for that. But all they're saying I believe is, back to Sonoma for the charges there.
Doesn't matter than she said it after the fact. She claims to have had a "a nonverbal exchange" at the time. If it affected her so deeply, what makes you think John Ramsey was oblivious to it?
He's a lawyer and a very successful CEO. I think his people and people reading skills are probably pretty good and that the suspicious LEO hackles did not go unnoticed by him.
The original statement, IIRC, was that he had been arrested in Thailand on unrelated charges. Those unrelated charges were apparently the California charges. Thailand immediately clarified that he had not been charged with any offense in Thailand.
Suppose, suppose...that now that we have his DNA, we catch a match in the DNA database....not asscociated with the Ramsey case but a case in California.
See? What'd I tell ya?
That would be sweet
Hurray!
Will they send him back to Thailand where they sprung him from custody?
And plenty of people who dutifully follow along where the media leads. As far as we know, other than the misdemeanor possession of child porn charges in California, Karr has never been in trouble with the law. He may have pedophilic tendencies, but as far as we know, he never acted on them. Yet people have called him all sorts of things and were willing to see him kept in jail or worse without any evidence of any wrongdoing.
And conservatives claim to be the champions of preserving the Constitution. Blech!
At the very least, and thanks to due diligence, we have a perv off the street. Every catch makes our kids just a little bit safer.
Or ANY open cases where Karr lived.
Yep, all 5 counts. It's CA. There may be extra time for failure to appear or flight to avoid prosecution, but I doubt it's much, considering ...
That one has hardly been discussed for years in public forums because of a media taboo attached to it: the Vincent Foster homicide. Clearly, some perverts have immunity from being brought to justice - because of their power and wealth - while others don't.
LOL THAT would be sweet and would mess with Karr's sanity for sure. What if that were always the intent?
True, if he did that. My understanding, however, is he never made any police report - he just told the media in Thailand he was "present" at JonBenet's death, whatever that means.
California might be able to pin a felony on him for his flight to avoid prosecution, though. I'm not familiar with their law on this point.
