What movie do you COMPULSIVELY watch over and over again? I am asking that because for the past couple of months I have been compulsively watched Cinderella Man every time I can catch it on cable. So far I must have seen it about 30 times but who's keeping count? For some strange reason, I find myself drawn to this movie. I can't really explain it. My favorite scene is when James Braddock was fighting Corn Griffin but will watch the movie in its entirety or what ever part is left when I check the tube.
It's gotten so bad that I now have the Cinderella Man book which I am now reading. Also, I find myself watching boxing events on the tube which I rarely did before.
So what movie (if any) do YOU compulsively watch over and over and over again?
Not yet. I've only read a few pages so far.
Almost Famous
Casablanca
Groundhog Day :-D
Seriously, anything Star Wars, anything Austin Powers, Monty Python and the Holy Grail...
For some reason, I've been watching "Joe vs. the Volcano."
Anything by Hayao Miyazaki (Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, etc.). Never get tired of them.
Burt knows his bombs.
There are two more movies that I would add to my list...I am watching one right now...and some people hate this movie, but I love it....Its 'Arsenic and Old Lace' with Cary Grant...some people were discussing the movie, and they mentioned, that Cary Grant was not the directors first choice for the film...his first choices were Jimmy Stewart or Bob Hope...seems that they could not make the film, because this was during the time when actors were contracted to different movie studios and could not get out of their contracts to make films for other studios...hence Grant got the role...supposedly, tho the film was a big hit, and is considered a classic, Grant himself was not happy with his performance, still believing that Hope or Stewart would have done a better job...in addition, Grant donated his entire salary to some sort of relief effort charity that was doing work he approved of, during WW11
My other favorite film is 'Harvey', with Jimmy Stewart...I love that movie as well, and watch it whenever I get the chance...
Seems I love many of the old movies...
This is getting spooky. Harvey is one of my favorites and I will probably get it for Christmas. Loved AAOL as well. We're on the same wavelength for movies is all I can say. I hope you have a good evening and thanks for posting.
Jaws,Gone in 60 seconds,The Rose, and Animal House.
Yes, its quite spooky....hope you have a great evening as well...I am enjoying watching AAOL right now...Its a scream...one of my favorite lines from that movie, is when Cary Grant sees his brother Jonathan for the first time, and says, "Where'd you get that face, Hollywood?"...it just cracks me up, no matter how many times I hear him deliver that line...
You have a good evening as well..
Hallelujah Trail
No Time for Sergeants
True Lies
Last of the Mohicans
Kelly's Heroes
Overboard
Anything with Walter Matthau, John Wayne or Steve McQueen in it.
Not surprised to see that one within the first ten posts.
It's a classic.
What does the title "Glengarry Glen Ross" mean?
I've never seen the movie, and descriptions that I have read don't explain the title. I've been curious since I first heard of it.
And what's it about in 25-50 words or less?
Oh, and as to the subject of the thread:
The Die Hard movies
Braveheart
Band of Brothers (more mini-series than movie, but I think of it as a movie, I guess)
Goodfellas
The Ace Ventura movies
