What Movie Do You COMPULSIVELY Watch On The Tube Over and Over and Over Again?

What movie do you COMPULSIVELY watch over and over again? I am asking that because for the past couple of months I have been compulsively watched Cinderella Man every time I can catch it on cable. So far I must have seen it about 30 times but who's keeping count? For some strange reason, I find myself drawn to this movie. I can't really explain it. My favorite scene is when James Braddock was fighting Corn Griffin but will watch the movie in its entirety or what ever part is left when I check the tube.

It's gotten so bad that I now have the Cinderella Man book which I am now reading. Also, I find myself watching boxing events on the tube which I rarely did before.

So what movie (if any) do YOU compulsively watch over and over and over again?

Did you see these threads ? too funny.

Start here:

These guys think they can debate a true, informed conservative and then post the thread where they got thier a$$ kicked and then claim victory on this other thread.

The saddest part about that movie is the three original male characters, Meredith, Matthau and then Lemmon, all died within a couple of years of the making of the movie.

I completely agree. Though thankfully they all lived long enough to do the sequel together. And everytime I watch those two films (I cannot just watch one or the other. I always watch the both of them back to back in their proper order), I cannot get over the fact that all three of them are now gone.

I am amazed that I've found so many fellow Down Periscope fans. I loved the film, but figured I was the only one as it took forever for it to get to DVD.
As far as my list:
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Space Cowboys
Trading Places
A Fish Called Wanda.
Plenty more, but it would be a long list.

I'm surprised no one mentioned:

The Searchers
The In-laws.......................... (Original Peter Falk version)
The Out-of-Towners...... (Original Jack Lemmon version)

Serpentine, Shel! Serpentine!

There's no reason to shoot at me! I'm a dentist!

Though I hated The Out of Towners. Saw it once over a dozen years ago on a Saturday afternoon. Never bothered to see it again.

I guess you would have had to have been there a few times -- to appreciate the film..

My wife and I still watch the DVD and still crack up from the constant falling of the "hammer of life" on those two poor souls...

You would be surprised how many “closet” fans of Down Periscope are out there. Many won’t admit it because it is not a film generally on the “A list”. This is a film that many ex Navy (military folks in general) can relate to (submariner or not) not because of its inaccuracies (and there are many) but because of its put down on asinine military regs and asinine military personnel. Lots of military errors in the movie, however, they are to be ignored and the comedy to be enjoyed.

Probably. SOME films I love now, I didn't love at the first viewing. Rather, it took several viewing for me to really appreciate them. And maybe "hated" is too strong a word when it comes to the out of towners. It just didnt catch on with me. I did watch the remake with Steve Martin and Goldie Hawn. And I thought that the original was a classic compared to that piece of tripe.
