What movie do you COMPULSIVELY watch over and over again? I am asking that because for the past couple of months I have been compulsively watched Cinderella Man every time I can catch it on cable. So far I must have seen it about 30 times but who's keeping count? For some strange reason, I find myself drawn to this movie. I can't really explain it. My favorite scene is when James Braddock was fighting Corn Griffin but will watch the movie in its entirety or what ever part is left when I check the tube.
It's gotten so bad that I now have the Cinderella Man book which I am now reading. Also, I find myself watching boxing events on the tube which I rarely did before.
So what movie (if any) do YOU compulsively watch over and over and over again?
Burgess Meredith was awesome in that movie.
I can't seem to turn off "Pretty in Pink" either. Don't think less of me, or ask me why. ;)
Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry
Bullet
Ten Commandments(Heston)
LOL, you too! I think it's the period and that it's a true story of courage and loyalty.
Others: Most any Wayne, Bogart, Cagney movie.
I forgot to add Blazing Saddles! I didn't get a harumph out of you!
Two words......Sophia Loren
GroundHog Day
Next Question?
Helpme,help me!!!
Actually, that is one of my least favorite scenes. Sorry to disappoint.
Let's see. I really like the scene in the van with the Mafia guy sitting between them while they sing mock-yeah-ing-yeah. And the diner scene with the same guy where he tells them to "go at the same time" (to taste the hot peppers) and later he drops dead when they accidentally kill him. Then there's the time when Lloyd drives a third of the country in the wrong direction. Remember: "that John Denver is full of 'crap'." And when they get pulled over by the Pennsylvania cop (see i'm not averse to toilet humor)
Good sight gags: when they're crying and blowing their noses with hundred dollar bills while watching a telephone commercial. And those fluffy white BOOTS that Lloyd is wearing when he gets out of the Lamborghini make me hysterical every time!
But the best line of all is....... "you can't triple stamp a double stamp, Lloyd! You can't triple stamp a double stamp!
It's just such a funny movie. I'm sure i left out a lot of hilarious parts that i just can't think of at the moment.
"The fight scenes were so completely phony and staged looking and the talking scenes were utterly boring."
I kinda thought that too but the DVD has clips of the real fight and the movie looks just like them. As for the boring parts (anything with his wife in them), I just skip past them. Its a much better movie that way.
I am having exactly the same experience. Every time I stumble on Cinderella Man channel surfing I watch the whole thing. I just about have all the dialogue memorized at this point, and I think I can play Giamatti's part note for note, including facial expressions. The wife thinks I am nuts. But then, she always watches ANCHORMAN, THE LEGEND OF RON BURGUNDY and DODGEBALL every time they're on. Then again, so do I.
Strange Brew
Easy Money
The Blues Brothers
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
The Enemy Below (well OK, any submarine movie)
The Bourne Conspiracy
Lloyd: I expected the Rocky Mountains to be a little rockier than this.
Harry: I was thinking the same thing. That John Denver is full of shit, man.
The "Quite Man". If it is on I watch it, bar nothing.
I can't believe it! We've got no food. We've got no jobs. Our pets heads are falling off!
Zulu, Tremors, Down Periscope. If they are on I watch.
I'm glad they had the sequel so that Max could have his chance at having a love interest. I always felt it was unfair in the first movie, Grumpy, that John got the girl, Ann Margaret, and Max wound up with zip.
