A lone llama has been roaming the fields of Pitt Meadows since last week, managing to evade capture and creating a stir in the suburban community.
The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and residents have tried unsuccessfully to capture the llama, which has been visiting farms looking for food. Macky Bains, who owns a cranberry farm and a turf farm, says the llama has damaged his fields and overstayed its welcome.
"It was running around on the grass and it was chewing up the turf, and we have got some netting on the fields to hold the turf down, and it kind of tore it all up and put ruts in the field."
The SPCA is continuing to monitor the llama and its condition, and suggests that people not approach it.
Leslie Elchuk, a Pitt Meadows bylaw enforcement officer, says she would like to see the animal captured.
"Our worry is that it is loose, it could go on the road, it could cause an MVA, it could get hurt itself."
So far, no one has claimed it.
City officials say they hope the owner will soon come forward. In the meantime, they are trying to find a local farm or game farm willing to take the animal.
Llama can be worth $2,000 or more.

The llama is a quadruped which lives in big rivers like the Amazon.
It has two ears, a heart, a forehead, and a beak for eating honey. But it is provided fins for swimming.
Llamas are bigger than frogs.
Llamas are dangerous, so if you see one where people are swimming, you shout: "Look out, there are llamas!"

Or, in the original...
"La llama es un cuadrúpedo que vive en los grandes rios del mundo como El Amazon! Tiene dos orejas, un corazón, una frente, y un pico para comer miel. PERO está provista de aletas para nadar! LLAMAS son más grandes que las ranas...LLAMAS! Pero las llamas son peligrosas y si usted vee a un llama donde hay gente nadando, usted grita, "¡CUIDADO, LLAMAS!" Cuidado, cuidado, cuidado, cuidadooooooo, llamas!"

Dayam, sounds more like Godzilla than a Llama!
How much will they pay me to run up there with a couple of Redneck friends and a mullet net, and catch the evil monster, before it eats a metrosexual?

"Which one is the llama?"
Both are, but they are in different phases. One has molted, and another not yet.
