JACKSONVILLE, FL -- A nine-year-old Florida boy is home from the hospital after being severely bitten by a pack of dogs while riding his bike to school.
The dogs turned on the boy and five other children as the students arrived at Hogan-Spring Glen Elementary on Beach Boulevard near Jacksonville Tuesday morning.
"We were riding our bikes to school then these dogs came up and bite us," said Kristy Nesbitt. She was one of the students attacked by the dogs.
"One of the kids did get bitten in the forehead, and in the leg and arm," the girl said.
Teachers saw the dogs attacking the children and rushed outside to get everyone inside. One adult suffered some minor bites in the effort to get the kids away.
"The dogs were very aggressive," said principal Jacquelyn Christopher.
Christopher said she spoke to the father of the nine-year-old victim. The boy may have to spend the night in the hospital after being bitten at least eight times.
What should happen to the Pit Owner for allowing his dogs loose while kids are on their way to the nearby school?
Feed Weaver to his dogs, then put the dogs down.
Same old crap will happen, cite the owners and fine them, put dogs in "time out", get dogs back, repeat....
Maybe they didn't ax the question correctly. ;-)
They are lucky if the dogs were in a pack.
I used to live at the edge of a small rural town of 2,000. Some mornings a pack of 20 or so wild dogs (all types, former pets) would run through town before sun up.
I always hoped no one was outside, because those dogs could have killed someone in a matter of minutes.
Take owner to zoo - push owner into bear den - teach owner real good lesson.
At least the owner didn't try to insult everyone's intelligence with the ole "I had no idea my sweet babies were aggressive" line.
That being said put him in jail and let him learn why they call it "The Slammer".
Naw, were still left with the dogs. Throw DOGS in bear den and make OWNER watch. Second offense-Bears get owner. Have some compassion! LOL
The story was written by a TV reporter, so odds are it's the reporter's lack of writing skills that is to blame.
"I always hoped no one was outside, because those dogs could have killed someone in a matter of minutes".
Good grief. Kids don't always speak properly. Especially if they were talking about a scary, traumatic experience.

They should put the school on lockdown every day until this kid learns English. - Krankor
Eaker is surely the primogenitor of a popular new phrase.
Poodles killed a hamster once.
Lock him in a room with those very same pit bulls until only one is left alive.
It's a pack of dogs. Dogs in packs are dangerous, period. This man should pay for not keeping the dogs under control. What ever happened to leash laws?
