Nearly a decade since her brutal murder in the basement of her parents home, the JonBenet Ramsey case was once again thrust into the public eye last week, when authorities arrested John M. Karr for the murder of the six-year-old girl. Since his arrest, Karr has confessed to the murder of Ramsey, although the validity of his confession is being questioned by those investigating the case due to inaccuracies in his testimony.
Local handwriting expert Don Lehew, of Mt. Selman, has obtained several samples of John M. Karrs handwriting, as well as, a copy of the Ramsey ransom note, and according to his analysis, they are all written by the same person. Lehew compared the ransom note to an old yearbook entry by Karr and an employment application Karr filled out when applying for a teaching job.

Medium-length blonde hair, slender, about 5'6", pasty-white skin, and what I'd call a hard looking face, as opposed to a softer, sweeter face.

Did she have a broad nose?
Did she resemble someone in his past?
No, I'd say it is more pointy. She has chisled features.
Interesting...I wonder what his first "wife" looked like.

She (first wife) didn't look like that I'd think. Of course I've only seen her photograph.
But I was wondering if she resembled his mother. She sounds like it except the nose. But who can tell with a description. There are many people in his life before and after that noone knows if they affected him or not. Then again, he could have just been being a drunk a-hole.
So if the DNA comes back as a match to this evil pinhead, you will make a long formal apology to the site for the accusations against all those who didn't do it?
Don't know about him being in the boy scouts. The more I think of Burke as the prime suspect, the more sense it makes. I'm not looking at the handwriting style, but the content. It makes sense of the phrase directed at John to use his Southern blah blah. Burke would have heard that ad nauseum. The opening "Listen csrefully" is something his mother might have said to him, and he is throwing it all back at them.
At one point in the Larry King interview, JR says he can't imagine anyone hating him enough to do this to him. Ten years later he would have the insights, he would know the truth, and with the spotlight once again focused on the case, his instinct with what he must know by now, would be to take Burke and get to a country that will not extradite to the USA because Burke would be tried as an adult and could be given the death penalty.
The garrotte's intricate wrappings also make sense with this theory. Making that weapon would take a lot of time. Why not bring one if it was an intruder? Burke had already made it, and used it to torture and kill small animals. He took the animals to the basement area where he lured JBR. He was full of rage having been almost completely ignored at the party, where JBR had tons of attention heaped on her, and was in reality the brightest star shining there.
He had had it. His parents clearly favored Jon Benet. Yet he was a brilliant child. If she was gone, he would be the center of their world. They would be even more protective of him. He had already sent JBR to the hospital with one swing of his golf club. He could do it again and hide the club.
The d.a. shouldn't have been worried about JMK getting away. They should be worried about BR and JR absconding.
Where did you get these "facts"?
Do NOT agree with one word you have said.
I hope the kid reads the lies, and sues to find out who he is and then sues him.
And I hate 99% of all lawsuits.
Made up or not it's about a creative as the tabloid that the Ramsey's sued and won their case.
People don't know fact from fiction anymore.....too much TV. IMO
Blood sport
I read some stuff on handwriting analysis last night. Comparisons are ranked on a scale from 1 to 9, 1 being identical. Anything that ranks below 5 is considered inconclusive. Patsy's score was a 4.5 so she was inconclusive, but about as far away on the scale in the inconclusive range as one could get without being ruled out.
I recall reading a "Christmas" newsletter of the Ramsey's, before JonBenet's death. In the newsletter, Patsy made a point of saying that Burke was becoming an expert boatsman. The Ramsey's owned a boat and the father had been teaching Burke how to sail, etc.
Sounds like a Burke may have known how to make such a knot.
I've said before that I fell into the category of people who suspected Burke accidentally killed his sister, out of panic and fear, that he'd get into trouble if the parents discovered what he was doing to JonBenet. Further, I always felt that the "scream" heard about midnight by neighbors was actually Patsy, when she discovered her daughter's body in the basement.
Further, I've always thought that the ransom note was written by Patsy (as probably dictated by John). It was the parents' attempt to protect their son.
Of course, if there is DNA evidence proving Karr to be the killer, I would be delighted to say I was wrong in my judgement of the case.
Changing the subject, I've read that John Ramsey is contemplating leaving the Country, as this new media craze is pumping up about the case. Does anyone know if John Ramsey is planning to take Burke out of the country with him?
Just asking.
"I hope the kid reads the lies, and sues to find out who he is and then sues him"
Hopefully there won't be many on the jury burning a bulb with as few watts as yours. I am entitled to imho, and it involves 25 years of crime prevention and numerous criminal investigations. What do you find implausible?
I don't know. He didn't say that, but it was during his trip to take Burke to Purdue U that he said it.
His other grandchildren are here, so I don't know what he's thinking - he was mostly PO'ed that he couldn't get Burke to college without papparazzi disrupting everything. He loves them when he wants to explain to the world about JonBenet's death and when he wants to run for office, but they're supposed to ignore him the rest of the time.
For someone who may have just found out his daughter's killer, he doesn't seem too interested in the news - and doesn't really seem to think it's the right one.
"Do NOT agree with one word you have said."
Couple that with "and I find it totally implausible because..." and by jove you've got yourself a counter argument!
Fox & Friends have had at least two 'experts' who refuted the claim that Karr wrote this.
