Man says he drugged, had sex with Ramsey
Associated Press ^ | Thursday, August 17, 2006

BANGKOK, Thailand - The American suspect in the killing of JonBenet Ramsey told investigators that he drugged and had sex with the 6-year-old beauty queen before accidentally killing her, a senior Thai police officer said Thursday.

An autopsy on Ramsey said a blood screening showed no drugs or alcohol in her body but said she had vaginal abrasions.

Lt. Gen. Suwat Tumrongsiskul, head of Thailand's immigration police, said by telephone that he was not present for the questioning, which was conducted by U.S. law enforcement officials.

But, according to what the general said he was told of the questioning, the suspect, John Mark Karr, "said he drugged the child." Suwat did not say who briefed him on the questioning.

Karr claimed he had sex with Ramsey, who was still alive, Suwat said. Karr said he then realized he had "accidentally" killed her, according to the general.

A spokesman for the U.S. Embassy said it had no information about Karr's alleged actions or what he said to questioners. U.S. and Colorado law enforcement officials were unavailable for comment.

I think Red Badger was suggesting that the sicko might CLAIM that, not that it was actually true. It would be no more bizarre and obviously untrue than several other things he's said.

Their separate lawyers, IIRC.

Correct. IMO, it indicated that John and Patsy Ramsey didn't fully trust each other re JonBenet's death.

Yes, that's certainly a very tin-foil-hatty opinion. But in your defense, this whole story is so bizarre that whatever the truth is, it will sound like a total tin-foil-hat hallucination (if we ever get it).

she had neck wounds from a ligature but IRRC, she actually died from a fractured skull,

My specific comment, though, has to do with the fact that he claims to have drugged her, although the autopsy showed otherwise.

It suggests that he made up at least part of his story. I'm also going to go out on a limb and predict that his DNA will end up not matching: the DNA story is not sourced, and the timeline between arrest and "positive match" sounds suspiciously short.

"'Well, in conversations at school (he was a school teacher) she could have said something like, "My daddy's gonna get 118 thousand dollars from where he works!. I heard them talking about it at breakfast.'"

So now this guy was JonBenet's teacher???!! Where do you get this drivel???

FReepers generally provide such a huge a volume of diverse speculation on cases like this, that one of us is bound to turn out to have been right, even if none of us really had a clue what we were talking about.

Looks as if he spends most of his time indoors.

Or with his proclivities and where he was found, may even have AIDS. He's a little too pasty for living in such a warm and sunny area.

According to the toxicology report she was neither drugged nor given any alcohol.

If someone dies in under 6 hours, wouldn't an agent "remain" in her blood?

Yup but I am apparently too dumb to see why that matters here.

As I read his story, he was with her a lot longer than six hours.

Yes, they may or may not have ACTUALLY trusted each other, but there was an awful lot of evidence that a reasonable person would interpret as indicating they didnt' trust each other. And if their actions were such as to lead reasonable people to believe they didn't trust each other, no one should be condemned for speculating that one of them was responsible. I happen to think that's unlikely, though I'm more open to the idea that one of them (probably the mother, who would have been the primary manager/traveller in connection with JonBenet's pageant career) had a good idea who was responsible and wasn't being fully forthcoming in order to avoid taking responsibility for endangering the girl by letting her mingle with pervs who attend those pageants. And if JonBenet was 2 years old by the time the family moved away from the Atlanta area, it not unlikely that she was already appearing in pageants there, and could have caught the attention of JMK at that time (which is not to say he's the real killer, but even if he's not, his obsession with JB may well have dated back a long time).

I guess I wasn't clear. There are certain drugs that the toxicology report cannot detect depending on the number of hours that have passed since administration of the drug and the performance of the toxicology tests.

That is why date rapists and pedophiles use those drugs.

I see no reason to believe the parents had anything to do with this. We have seen this over and over again since this case. Some pervert takes the child out of the house-or kills the parents and takes the child.
