Man says he drugged, had sex with Ramsey

BANGKOK, Thailand - The American suspect in the killing of JonBenet Ramsey told investigators that he drugged and had sex with the 6-year-old beauty queen before accidentally killing her, a senior Thai police officer said Thursday.

An autopsy on Ramsey said a blood screening showed no drugs or alcohol in her body but said she had vaginal abrasions.

Lt. Gen. Suwat Tumrongsiskul, head of Thailand's immigration police, said by telephone that he was not present for the questioning, which was conducted by U.S. law enforcement officials.

But, according to what the general said he was told of the questioning, the suspect, John Mark Karr, "said he drugged the child." Suwat did not say who briefed him on the questioning.

Karr claimed he had sex with Ramsey, who was still alive, Suwat said. Karr said he then realized he had "accidentally" killed her, according to the general.

A spokesman for the U.S. Embassy said it had no information about Karr's alleged actions or what he said to questioners. U.S. and Colorado law enforcement officials were unavailable for comment.

I think people are forgetting one important fact.

According to what I heard on FoxNews last night, the local authorities had told Patsy before she died in June that they were planning on arresting this guy. To me this means that they have strong evidence linking him to the crime. He may just be confessing to get sent back to the US instead of dying in the Thia jail.

and thus shared guilt/complicity in her death. There was no way they could point to the real killer without implicating one or both of them (especially if only one of them was involved), hence the Ramsey's need to call in their lawyers so early on.

That's been my sense all along. All the current calls to "apologize" for implicating mom and dad as accessories ring hollow, IMO.

Autopsy results showed JonBenet received a massive blow to the head and was strangled with a rope that the killer tightened by twisting an attached paintbrush handle.

I'm trying to anticipate this sicko's explanation of how this happened "by accident" and how it's consistent with his claim that he was "in love with her".

Karr was arrested . . . just two days after getting a teaching job at an international school in the same area, police said.

The school official will need to come up with an equally tortured explanation of how he happened to find this obvious whacko to be a suitable candidate for a job teaching young children. Not only is the guy incoherently loony, he's also pretty bizarre-looking. And you'd think serious scrutiny for possible pedophiles would be absolutely routine at schools in BANGKOK.

As Polybius suggested, this is certain to turn into a disgusting media circus. I find myself wishing the judge would slap a gag order on the whole thing, Constitution be damned.

Maybe a bit of resemblance to Hickock (bottom): I’m not a good judge.

As it happens, Hickock was fond of underage girls, which Smith despised in him.

You know he may not be really with it currently but he may have been "with it" 10 years ago. Regardless, until we know what information the DA has on the guy any speculation as to his guilt or innocence is just that. It is interesting to read the Freepers' takes on the guy given the information that is surfacing but even that information has been confusing and contradictory.

Looks like a case of mental illness. Mental cases claiming to have committed famous crimes when caught for a different crime has quite a history.

I accidentaly kill people all the time, gets to be a drag...

What happened to this guy's DNA being a match to something on Jon Benet; was that mere speculation?

maybe mental difficulties and is confused

Hardly unlikely, since she actually married this guy.

If I allowed myself to wax full-blown conspiratorial on the subject, I'd say that John Ramsey was running a little after-hours child porn business out of his basement, and JonBonet was the product. Things got out of hand that night, and John's little side-business was going to be exposed as a result.

In my tinfoil-hat-opinion, the ransom note was Patsy's doing, and not part of John's covering up of the crime. Naming his bonus amount was a way of throwing a monkey wrench into the "official" Ramsey alibi. The amount would redirect police attention back onto John Ramsey, hopefully uncovering his late-night parties. It was her revenge on him for (indirectly) killing her baby girl.

Well, in conversations at school (he was a school teacher) she could have said something like, "My daddy's gonna get 118 thousand dollars from where he works!. I heard them talking about it at breakfast.".........
