JonBenet Ramsey D.A.: More Work Needed
ASSOCIATED PRESS
BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - The district attorney in the JonBenet Ramsey slaying says there is "much more work" to be done in the case against the suspect and she is warning the public not to "jump to conclusions."

DNA will tell the story and if it is his he will plead out to life.
I don't think it's going to be him either; just a gut feeling and also that in 2001 he said he'd been arrested for killing Ramsey when clearly he'd been arrested for child pornography.
That was in part of the press conference.
Look, I don't want to get in a long disagreement with you here. I realize the guy could be innocent of this crime. What bothers me is that I think people are jumping down this lady's throat for remaining extremely tight-lipped and are accusing her of backtracking when:
1. She wasn't the one who initially reported anything. This is her first press conference.
2. She's trying not to get herself in a situation where she is accused of purposely going after a person just to go after person if you know what I mean.
When did they take them and by whom were they administered? I've heard that when polygraphs are administered by someone who's friendly to you (like your defense lawyer) you're likely to be cool, calm and collected even if you're guilty. It's not as if your defense lawyer is going to release the results if you failed.
I,for one,am far from certain who killed the girl. All I know is that there were hundreds of things that the parents said and did that make me strongly suspect that at least one of them knew something about what happened.
did you notice when he was asked the questions - "how did you get into the basement", "how did you come to have knowledge of the Ramsey family" - how he paused before answering "no comment". I mean, if he is confessing to this - spill it all, tell us everything. why hedge on those two simple questions?
...that and the fact he has said he druuged her and raped her...no evidence of either....his wishfull thinking imho
"So, no, I don't blame the parents, although what they did with their daughter and to their daughter put their daughter at greater risk for harm, I believe."
I have to agree there, jdm. God rest Patsy's soul but she did sexualize her child with all that gaudy makeup and costumes. I know that's not a crime but I think it is weird as hell. Trying to live vicariously through the child. Sad. I saw a documentary about these "kiddie pagent" types. Most of the mothers seemed to have serious issues.
...because he can't.
#1. I thought the DA said the school was reviewing his resume to hire him; I didn't think she said he'd already been hired. But you could be right. However, I didn't post anything upthread about that, so I'm still not sure why you think I've posted misinformation about this matter.
Can you tell me what misinformation that is so I can stop immediately?
#2. I don't wish to argue with you either, but you have an opinion the family is treating him like a saint and I have an opinion the DA was patting herself on the back and the office is realizing they don't have a terribly good case at this point and their press conference confirmed that in my view.
I watched the entire thing. It was a classic example of such press conferences these days. Totally content free and useless from the point of view of giving the public substantive information.
Such press conferences are all about the lead agency in the case patting itself and the other agencies involved on the back. Then they go with the usual disclaimers of not being able to answer any questions because it's an ongoing investigation.
The only thing interesting in this particular press conference was the DA's strong insistence that Karr is entitled to a presumption of innocence. (CNN even got that wrong; on its banner at the bottom of their screen, they wrote that the DA said Karr was presumed guilty. Sheesh!)
This DA did everything but turn herself into a pretzel trying to cover her butt: (1) There's still a lot of work to do. (2) Sometimes "exigent circumstances" force the time of an arrest.
Pathetic.
"What I think people need to realize is the following:
The guy is a pedophile.
The guy is obsessed with the murders of young girls.
The guy purposely takes jobs that put himself near children."
You missed the big one.
The guy is President Logan's illegitimate son.
On Court TV, they mentioned several questions he was asked that he couldn't answer.
Well, I guess that resume answers the question "what do teachers do that lose the license because of sexual deviation". See the world.
then why have the press conference? or, simply have the press conference and say "we have a person coming back to the US to face other charges related to crimes against children, that person is making claims to be involved with the JBR case, and we will investigate that".
end of press conference.
Yes, in fact, drug tests were done on Jon Bonet and showed she hadn't been drugged. But he's saying he did drug her so that doesn't fit right there.
Sometimes we have to double think what we read. The Ramseys were coming up with all kinds of scenarios in their mind. We perceive it as "their thoughts" but in reality they are "ramblings".
I don't think he's a trust fund baby because John's father is quoting in an article posted today that he didn't have enough money to send his kids to college. John went to college after marrying and having children.
If the DA could even place him in Colorado at the time of the murder I'd be happy. But it doesn't look like it.
So far the drugs story doesn't jive ... at all. Complete fabrication.
