As this unfolded, I had the same question. Is he a trust fund baby? How could he travel around so extensively. The brother's defense of him sounded so full of holes -- didn't know if he was divorced, married, where he went to school to get the certification to teach, what he'd been doing.
While I haven't seen my ex-in-laws for over a decade, I can remember when they married and that they never had kids. I also know where they have worked and how they have lived and when the last time I saw them would have been. I would have a hard time believing either capable of a crime of any sort -- but I wouldn't embarrass myself on national T.V. by stoutly defending them either -- father hadn't seen (or heard from) his son for over five years. Sounded weird to me, but what do I know. Wife says he was with her -- porno ring??? Nope, she divorced him after his arrest in California. Too weird -- really hoped this would clear the Ramsey's names. Too much to hope for.

I don't think he's a trust fund baby because John's father is quoting in an article posted today that he didn't have enough money to send his kids to college. John went to college after marrying and having children.
