PETALUMA (KRON) -- It now appears the only person ever arrested in connection with the murder of Jon Benet Ramsey once taught in Petaluma schools.
The Sonoma County district attorney's office is now confirming 42-year old John Mark Karr was charged with possession of child pornography in April, 2001. Other reports indicate Karr served as a substitute teacher in the Petaluma elementary school system.
Prosecutors say Karr failed to show in court in December, 2001. He's been a fugitive ever since.
Thai police arrested Karr Wednesday in connection with the Jon Benet Ramsey case. The little girl was found dead in her Boulder, Colorado home the day after Christmas, 1996.
So far we have no connections to Colorado. Strange.
why? because Nancy thought the Ramsey's did it?
there is still a long way to before convicting this guy (of this crime).
I turned off my TV when he came on. Earlier they had on the FBI profiler who said he went to Colorado originally expecting to break the case that the Ramsey's were guilty and after five days became convinced they could not have done this heinous crime. He tried to tell the Boulder police to look elsewhere but they wouldn't. When the new DA was put in office, he was asked to return and went over his original findings with her.
Was really impressed with him. Until he talked I had no idea that she was hit by an object that caused an 8" gash in her skull.
good summary.
Rising Star Productions Group, Inc?
that will be the key fact at the press conference tomorrow - placing him definitively in Boulder that night.
They can trace what ISP they are being sent from and this guy doesn't seem to be a computer genius that could hide where he was located. I know my firewall will list ISP's and location of people pinging my computer trying to find an open port.
Was just listening in MSNBC and they said that Karr is originally from Conyers, GA. and that the Ramsays have ties to Conyers. Maybe that's how he knew/knew of them.
Mark Fuhrman said that was one of a few things-DNA?
Yeah, I'd heard that.
I checked all the member names and his was not there. Some of the names were not nice.
DA Boulder, CO news conference tomorrow...we may learn more about the DNA then...
remember, the DNA they would be matching him up to - was found years after the crime scene investigation, on her clothing.
no matter what the other evidence is, if they can't definitively place him in Boulder that night - he can't possibly be guilty.
I'm not feeling awfully bad for the guy because they found child porn on his computer which is why he originally fled. The fact that his teaching credentials appear to have been revoked in more than one state is telling as well. Again, even if he's not the killer, I'm glad they got him.
Something is going on and I feel sorry for his family.Put him in jail.
Don't trust the Boulder "keystone cops" or DA.
if he's guilty - fry him.
but if the DA can't present a case that explains everything that was unique about the crime scene, can't establish without a doubt he was in Boulder that night, etc - then what does that tell us about the DNA? If they have a positive DNA test, and all of a sudden his family comes up with facts placing him somewhere else for christmas, what is the DA going to say?
