In surveys conducted in 2005, people in the United States and 32 European countries were asked whether to respond true, false or not sure to this statement: Human beings, as we know them, developed from earlier species of animals. The same question was posed to Japanese adults in 2001. The United States had the second-highest percentage of adults who said the statement was false and the second-lowest percentage who said the statement was true, researchers reported in the current issue of Science. Only adults in Turkey expressed more doubts on evolution. In Iceland, 85 percent agreed with the statement.

Deny that FReepers go to the ACLU? You made the assertion -- it is up to you to defend it. I appreciate your attempt to change the framework of the discussion, but it really is your job, forensically, to support your (now) assertion. I think you can get it raised to "contention" but it is not unreasonable to ask you to provide some links to prove your statement (which statement does, honestly, require "proof").
I don't know if I want to spend a lot of time getting links that you will either reject or marginalize. It is really not that big of a deal to me whether you accept it or not. Its there if you have followed the threads, thats all.
My friend, I merely ask you to substantiate statements you have made. This places you in the position of either substantiating them or admitting you cannot substantiate them. I invite you to do either. You don't have to spend a lot of time providing a lot of links. A representative handful will do.

LOL!
I can't believe no one has posted Ted Kennedy yet :)
You have vision. I have very respectfully asked several on this thread to support statements they have made -- not even in terms of the CR/ID vs TToE, but assertions as to the habits, morals, agenda, breakfast cereal selection, etc. of those who understand TToE.
I have yet to get a direct answer.
As you have also seen, when we post direct evidence of speciation, transitional fossils, etc. etc. etc. those who are less knowledgeable abandon the discussion.
What is sad is that this is willful ignorance. And I decided, after a contentious thread, I will treat my brothers and sisters who attempt to ply their trade of willful ignorance with love and respect (although I must admit to a little teeth gritting).
But you certainly have discerned the pattern. Good catch!
Oh, and welcome to FR! :)
We don't have meet and greet ceremonies, so if you need a little help, please FReepmail me ("Private Reply" on a given post or "Mail" at the upper right).
Or Helen Thomas, you know the picture I mean.
FWIW, I think this has been already posted.

Nope
All of them? Please. That is false generalization.
but they should be forced to explain why it is that whenever they start losing the argument, they hire the ACLU to go out to sue someone to impose their views on the rest of us.
No evo has hired the ACLU when "starting to lose an argument." Perhaps you are confusing issues.
They travel in suspicious circles.
Please demonstrate this.
Please show how evolution can be applied to social behavior.
Nothing more to say? Then there's nothing more to learn.
Be prepared to wait...

What's a girl like you doing in a place like this?
I thought you avoided these parts....
No offense, my friend, but you have described Fundamental Christianity to a "T." TToE is based on science and has a basis in fact and science for its understanding.
Christianity (of which I am an adherent) is based on faith which has a single text for its understanding.
Your sword cuts 2 ways.
What can they say? We're gonna move to France with Arec Baawin?
I'm going to start a FR Beautification League. My mission is to stamp out posts with Helen Thomas pics.
You with? :-)
I start with taking on the base attacks that occur in the thread.
:-)
