When I was drinking, my favorite was a beer from New Zealand called Steinlager. Excellent, clean. Molson Export Ale was good, as was Dab.

I go for the full-bodied ales, myself.

Ever had Thomas Hardy's Ale? Liquid fruitcake.

It's made by O'Hanlon's now.

1. Kirin Ichiban
2. Mississippi Mud
3. Asahi Super Dry
4. Labatt's Blue
5. Killian's Red
6. Smithwick's Ale
7. Pierr Celi's Grotten Brown (6.7% alcohol by vol., 750 ml)
8. Guinness Stout
9. Pyramid Apricot Ale
10. Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout (in mid-winter, with chili)!

Honorable Mention:

Harp Lager
Harpoon Ale
Boddington's Creme Ale
Anything by Leinenkugel
Cave Creek Chili Beer (chili pepper in the bottom of the bottle, the beer is HOT when you drink it. so you need another beer as a chaser).

...and believe me when I say...

Cheers!

Key West Ale, McSorley's Amber Ale, Amber Bock (whis is Budweiser, I think), Fat Tire Ale, Red Hook. There's probably others, but I can't think of them off the top of my head.

Foster's Special Bitter is good, too. It doesn't taste all that bitter to me.

Some of my favorites:

pilsner -- Urquell "Pilsner"... clean, malty
bock -- Paulaner "Salvator" ... full, sweet, complex
IPA -- "Liberty Ale" ... lots of citrusy American hops
fruit -- Sam Adams "Cherry Wheat" ... perfectly balanced malt, hops and fruit
stout -- "Guinness" ... IT'S GUINNESS!
imperial stout -- Sam Smith's "Imperial Stout" ... like thick roasted cognac
Christmas beer -- Sam Adams "Old Fezziwig" ... spicy, malty, YUMMY
Belgian ale -- Anything Belgian ... They're all so different and all so good
homebrew -- my own homebrew "Mr. President" ... A raspberry Imperial stout fine tuned every year since 1989, lots of roasted barley, lots of homegrown Cascade hops, lots of homegrown red and black raspberries and lots of alcohol (8%)

but ...

Shiner Bock. Nectar of the gods.

I've become rather enamored of Tuborg over the past few months. But that's probably only because I can't get Shiner at the moment.
