Isn't dsl supposed to be faster than this? It depends on your distance from the switch. Your DSL is faster than mine... I am 13,487 feet from the switch, about the limit for DSL.

Is 4kbps good?It's certainly not bad.
4kbps is usually the slowest speed on average for my dialup connection. I usually get anywhere from 4.8 to 5.1kbps.

And except for exactly doubling the ping time (which is understandable), there's no appreciable difference going across the continent:

How do you get 250ms pings only 250 miles away? I got 53ms over 300 miles and still 106ms across the continent to L.A.
It would suck to be you doing online gaming. Talk to your ISP.

actually I think it's because I had a routing issue this morning.
