How much more perverted can Hollywood get?

Will Tom Cruise and his Scientology buddies take a stand against this?

"...the rape scene was tastefully shot"

I'm speechless.

A 'tastefully' shot rape scene with a preteen?

The only way to do that would be to not have the rape scene.

But in all honestly, why on earth would someone even consider making a 'tastefully shot' rape scene? No; it shouldn't be tasteful. If one is going to travel down that road, every person in the theater should be squirming in their seats with discomfort at the thought of a twelve year old being raped, much less the horrible visual being presented.

But of course, the reality is that liberals, especially in the movie industry, would far prefer that the age of consent be dropped down to twelve, so yeah, I could see why they'd try to make it 'tasteful.'

This is of course being said not having seen it, and also not even desiring to see it.

So now Hollywood is making movies they DARE us to see?

I know folks who work in Hollywood and we often discuss movies like this with phrases like "Is this what someone dreamed they'd do one day when they hoped for a career in movies?"

Why is this news? What kind of rape scene? I remember seeing A Time to Kill and there was a rape scene in there, well snapshots of what is supposed to be a rape. Is this full on rape? Also, someone tell me how you tastefully portray a rape scene!!!

It seems that the lessons Alfred Hitchcock taught us in cinema are lost on the 'enlightened'. Nothing is as graphic, as scary or as sensuous as our imagination.

Psycho is, and continues to set the standard; yet Hitchcock didn't need to make a 'slasher' flick.

If a rape of a child was required for a movie (and I can't imagine why it would be); the camera fade out would be far more dramatic than the actual violent act itself.

Dakota Fanning will be Tom Cruise's fourth wife.

See, her filming a rape scene isn't the sickest thing you'll read today.

Dakota Fanning is a remarkable actress. In practically every film I've seen of hers she is simply the best thing in it. She is really gifted.

There was a time in my life that I thought it would be fun to be an actress. I was in a few college plays and watching the other actresses allow their bodies to be used in a way that embarrassed me made me change my mind. I don't know how they separated their personal space from the actions they were asked to do. Couldn't do it myself. I won't be seeing this movie.

My family knows the kid who is playing her best friend. I hope he's not the one who's supposed to do this. I doubt it, but he's such a good kid that I'm concerned for him. He and his sister are both incredibly talented performers. I've been hoping the movie would do well, just so that his career will take off. This news is not good.
