Her parents are probably in on it with her..

Don't blame Wisconsin. The woman is from Illinois.

I don't know, the parents are saying she can't prove it. Sounds like they're fighting it.

< IANAL>
Whether or not the injury is genuine, I wonder if the suit could be a way to milk (or bilk) insurance; e.g., if the parents' homeowner's policy pays the award in the suit?

No, I'd say that one must have kept them pretty busy.

What a lovely, upstanding, warm family.

I'd like to spend Thanksgiving with them.

Think they'd invite me?

I would have to make sure to slip on their driveway.

Thanksgiving is icy season there, right?

Carriel Louah, 25, visited Darlington, Wis., to surprise her mother on her birthday in January 2005. But the next morning, she was injured when she slipped and fell on her parents' driveway. She filed suit against her parents earlier this year.

It's the thought that counts, she was visiting dear old mom on her b-day. It kinda makes you wonder what she saves up to do for Mother's Day, like maybe a flying backflip on the front yard.

Dawggonit, all this T1 to exploit and no way around the Net nanny. Darn thing even blocks the German proxy I used to use.

About this woman suing her parents and the theories on whether her parents are in on it: Hardly know who root for in this one. Either she's a malicious, nasty cow to the folks who raised her ... or she's conspiring with equally criminal-minded parents to bilk the insurance company. Well, I spose she could really be injured, maybe she's cash-poor, and the parents suggested it as a way to get "free" money to pay actual medical expenses.

But ya know ... it just ain't right to sue your parents. I'd suck it up and deal with it before I took my parents to court.
