Black bear takes swipe at camper ( asleep inside the tent )( and several puncture wounds )

A camper on Grand Mesa was treated and released at St.Mary’s Hospital Saturday morning after a black bear took a swipe at her after waking her up.
“It wasn’t that the bear attacked her,” said Randy Hampton, spokesman for the Colorado Division of Wildlife.
“The bear came into her tent, and when she surprised him, he took a swipe at her.”
The woman, who was not identified, felt a tugging on her sleeping bag Saturday morning at about 6:30 as she was sleeping, ...
She was camping with a group on Grand Mesa near Waterdog Reservoir south of Powderhorn Resort.
She was in a tent with her daughter, and others in the group were out fishing, ...
“When she woke up there was a black bear,” Hampton said.
“It had its head and one paw in the tent.”
The woman yelled at the bear, which then swiped at her with its paw before running off...
She received puncture wounds to her right thigh, Hampton said. She was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital, where she received 12 stitches before being released...
“It scratched across her right thigh, fairly deep,” Hampton said.
She received several puncture wounds.
There was no indication the woman had any food in her tent.

Identifying Bears:
If you see a Bear... climb a tree.
If the bear climbs up the tree and kills you... it's a Black Bear.
If it knocks the tree down and kills you... it's a Grizzly Bear.

If the bear climbs up the tree and kills you... it's a Black Bear. If it knocks the tree down and kills you... it's a Grizzly Bear.

I think that she was the food, or maybe the kid.

The bear attack against Timmy Treadwell came at night, I believe.
His girl friend had the video recorder on, but only the audio was working... or maybe the lense cap was on ?
In any event, their voices were recorded as they both were killed.
