London: His near-death experience has apparently made Rolling Stone guitarist Keith Richards think about his after life, for hes just cut an album of religious songs.
The guitarist, more famous for Stones songs such as Sympathy For The Devil and the album Their Satanic Majesties Request, cut a CD called My Soul Is A Witness of African-American spiritual music with his sister-in-law, concert singer Marsha Hansen.
A source said that Richards turn to religion is making him the butt of jokes among some of his pals back home in the UK.
Some of Keiths friends back in Britain have been poking fun, saying hes now jamming with Jehovah, The Sun quoted the source, as saying.
Richards shows his strumming skills on half a dozen tracks, including I Want Jesus To Walk With Me and Rock In Jerusalem.
Sis-in-law Marsha Hansen is defending the veteran rocker saying that Richards decided to cut the album because hes intrigued by African-American roots music.
His understanding of music is deep. Hes intrigued by African-American roots music, she said.

The question is ... If Richards found religion would he know it?? To him it could be a "flashback". Lol!
God sure does work in mysterious ways !
Getting right with a Pinacoladaectome.
"Richards falls from a palmtree and cracks his coconut, thereby having a near-death experience (especially at his old age) and it looks like he finds religion."
Maybe during his baptism, they kept his head submerged a little too long.
Why, brain trauma has been known to produce even stranger effects.
I have not heard this elsewhere.
Wow.
I have read that his current wife is an American born-again Christian. That could have an effect as well.
Seriously, I hope and pray that this is genuine. Every man's eternity is worth more to God than we understand.
I was the butt of plenty of jokes too, when I got saved fifteen years ago. I lost all my 'friends', every single one. Quite a deep relationship we had, huh.
It didn't take long before I happened upon a group of folks that aceepted me unconditionally, and we are closer than brothers and sisters to this day.
I know what you're saying. Losing friends is common. My family wasn't very happy about it at first. But over time they came to accept it. But it took a while. Glad you found people who accept & care for you.
Well, half of my family was already Christian, the other half freaked out. I was the last one they expected... lol
That crowd I hung with are now either dead or on a permanent mental vacation, a far as I know. Perhaps some came to Christ, I hope so. I've lost touch with them all. And I never rejected them, that's the weird thing. They just couldn't handle the invasion of reality I guess.
Now, I actually employ two of my very first 'new' friends, and their wives, in my business. One of them is also the worship leader at church. Little did we know what God had in store for all of us- we were just barely adults back then.
I hope God's love in you, has brought more family members in since your salvation. He's faithful, and you have His promises over your family!
I understand. Many of the people I hung out with are "guests of the state". I imagine about as many are probably dead as well. Haven't seen any of them in ages. I cut ties with them long before I got saved, but I believe the Lord had a plan. Could have just as easily been me. Salvation is available for all. Even for the last person you would think possible. The person the Lord used to lead me to Him is the last one on the planet I thought would come to Christ. As a matter of fact when I heard he had gotten saved, I said "Yeah right. Me too." The Lord sure turned that one around.
Sounds like things are really going well for you & family & friends. God bless.
You can say that again!
