The theme for this weekend is Air Shows and comparing them in the US and Britain. I have picked Biggin Hill Air Show which is an ex RAF Station which is now in private ownership but continues to have an annual Air Show.
I last visited the airshow in 2000 but a friend of mine attended this year. The following are extracts from this year's program.

TOPICS: Arts/Photography; Chit/Chat; Food; Military/Veterans
KEYWORDS: aeronautics; airplanes; airshows; airtravel; bigginhill; company; flight; flirt; friendship; militaryaircraft; raf; singles; weekend; wingsoverpittsburgh

How expensive is it for a one day ticket for the air show & the corresponding displays in England?
In our area it is about 20 american dollars. Then there are "extras" which you can purchase.. Like a short plane ride.. heli ride etc

I have been up & heavily busy since 5 AM.. so need sleep anyway..
Check in later. I send the thread link to about 50 friends who are flight supporters/enthusiasts... I think many of them are out of the area for weekend also.
sweet dreams all you good singles/single thread visitors...

Yes they are expensive in England as well though there are free ones that they hold along the coast in various areas of the UK.
I think it was a great idea to print what you could expect to pay for food and drink so that people could challenge vendors that tried it on. Especially if it got very hot and they suddenly double the price of cold drinks.

In England you can also pay extra for stand tickets, visiting live side before the show etc etc.
When I took short plane trip at Duxford a few years ago that would have been equilvalent to about 40 dollars probably much dearer than that now.
Air ticket prices not sure what current ones are - will check.

On alternate years my biking frined John & I would bike to clevlenad lake front area (about 20 miles) and find a place on a hillside above the lake & watch the airshow for free. I dont have the big desire each year to do the "inside" attractions.
the food/concession prices are outrageous & not that good. I always opt for a btter meal LATER elsewhere..
again, (maybe for sure this time).. good night!
