Evening, everyone! Our topics this evening are Internet Dating, and, of course, Meeting the Parents!! I think that's a perfect subject for the two of us to host!

I'm off for a bit. I'm going to watch my sister's dance recital, then take a little drive...
I'll pop back on sometime after midnight. Behave yourselves! Hoodie will be in later this evening.
Hope I didn't miss anyone in the ping!

I've met one nice guy on line and a lot of men who were married but wanted a little "side action". Are there any decent, intelligent, single men out there who are in their 40's and 50's?

You were asking what program I used to edit the gif for NordP the other night I used an on line one.
Which is very simple one ideal for just putting text on an existing gif, here is a link to it

I believe that the internet is the WORST possible venue for "meeting" people, no matter the gender. Women are naturally wary of men they encounter, wondering if they are scum trolling for an easy mark (I don't blame them). Men are naturally wary of women they encounter, wondering if it might be part of an NBC Dateline investigation.
The only people that I have met on the internet that I carry on regular conversations with are other men. We share our mutual interests, mostly political, financial, music related and firearms. It's safe and nobody gets hurt.
The internet is inherently a dangerous place due to it's anonymity. I'm not saying that it is impossible to make a good connection on line, I'm just saying that your odds are long.
In answer to your question....Yes.

Well, that was revealing, Phil. ;-) How is everyone tonight? I'll be popping in and out--heard a rumor that Fox is showing repeats of '24' tonight.

What's going on with the World Cup, snugs?
To: RockinRight
OK, here's a good laugh for you all....
1. Have you been on a date with someone you met on the Internet?
Yes. We lived together for a few months.
2. Did the date go well? Did a relationship result?
He was kinda fat so it was an OK first meeting with me hiding my disappointment. A relationship was started after several more visits.
3. Did you meet them on a dating site or elsewhere?
Yes....Country Singles.com. He stated he was a.....(now don't laugh) Helicopter Pilot and Photographer from Iowa.
4. Do you have a funny, gross, scary, or otherwise entertaining internet dating story to share? Either one that happened to you, or someone you know.
Yes. We ended up on Judge Judy when I took him to Small Claims Court to get back $6,000 he lied me out of. I don't do internet dating anymore........

In after the ping, which I didn't get. Am I still on the list?
To: libertylass
Now........for my defense: In spite of his overweight-ness he had a very soothing quality about him and had very intelligent topics to discuss. He was a Vietnam Veteran who had been in the Air Force at the time of his deployment, but told me he had been in the Army as a Helicopter Pilot. He had pictures and everything. (Lies). I did find out later by a reputable person that he was heavily "medaled" from his stints in Vietnam. Don't know what for though.
He turned out to be an exceptional pathological liar. He actually fooled most people, however, what was interesting is that he didn't fool most of the men. They were leary....
He had some very good qualities although he must have known it wasn't going to last because I caught him communicating with several other women (potential victims). He actually had another woman on the string when I kicked him out of my home and sent him packing to a local cheap hotel. He brought his new "wife" to the Judge Judy showing that was aired on January 11th, 2001, I believe. I had actually tried to warn her about him before they married, but she didn't believe me. He prepared her for my attempts to convince her of his "issues." She bought it AND him..... hahahahahaha. I got my money back within a week.

"Iowa" should have set off the red flags.

England have won their 2 openinig games but do not look very convincing to me.
US must win tomorrow against Italy to have a chance of progressing to the next phase.
Team that looks best to me so far is Argentina.
